This is why I'm selling the game.

1200 MS points for the stimulus map pack are they having a laugh?
" @ch13696 said:Maybe people are used to the $10 price point. I didn't know anything about the Halo maps. The only Halo's I owned were on PC. And the maps were free." @ArbitraryWater said:Even though one map in every single Halo 3 map pack has been a remake of a previous Halo map? Sorry, that argument doesn't work in this case. "" Of course... we all forget that it's ok for bungie to charge $10 for 3 maps, which is technically more expensive PER MAP than this one is. But it's Activision. What do you expect? "It's the price point. We did the same for CoD 4. Because they were brand new maps. So, $15 for 3 new maps and 2 ported maps is kind of ridiculous. "
Somehow I am not surprised. These are the same people that whore out every frickin' single one of their franchises after all...
" I had a feeling this was going to happen. $15 XBLA games are so common now, a $15 map pack was the next obvious step. $15 for five NEW maps wouldn't be so bad, but 2 of them are recycled though... "But it's most likely the same on PSN. And PSN still comes out with $10 games.
The COD4 Variety Map Pack was complete garbage, and a waste of my $10. Activision expects me to pay 15 bones for three maps (which will most likely suck) with 2 tacked on COD4 maps that probably took no effort or money to port over? Fuck that.
...is this a fucking joke? 5 bucks for a new map?
Thank god I play FPS on PC and have all my shit on Steam.
EDIT: UT2k4 had over 6,000 maps...guess how much that cost? That's right...it was free! Epic games even released free full blown expansion packs that had loads of new maps and game modes.

" @ch13696 said:" @ArchScabby said:yeah, then 2 million people will buy it day one, and the next game, and then they will buy the next one for 100 dollars. People are idiots. "" Get as mad as you want but 2 million people are still going to buy it, and then they'll buy the next one for the same price, and the next one, and then the next one for 20 dollars. "That's true. But it has to stop somewhere. Where will it stop? Next thing you know Activision will charge $70 for their Call of Duty games. "
That picture pretty much somes it up. Fuck this game, onto bad company and its free maps." What are you avin' a giraffe mate!?
but seriously Bungie charge 800 for 3 maps, so yeah no big deal. "
" To put this in perspective...$15 is 25% of the cost of the whole game for console players. "And to add to your perspective, I remember reading that there was a second DLC pack in the works. This would bring the total up to $30 if they end up charging the same price.
Hey, I have an idea!
What if you are already the owner of Call of Duty 4, and basically you just get the maps transferred over to your new MW2 account by using your CoD4 disc.
So you get all the maps from the first game in the second game!
Wait, D'oh!! You can't make any money like that!! My bad guys. :)
K if it were 5 new maps... i could understand it being this high of a price, but i still wouldn't buy it. But the fact that this is the same as any map pack a cod's had, plus two already finished maps that just had to be ported over is fucking ridiculous. Hell WaW had a zombie map in there too and it was still cheaper.
The problem is that other companies will do the same, and soon enough most dlcs will be 15$, with no justification for the price other than "hey it's the current price point, what do you wanna do?"." @PrintedCrayon said:
" @KaosAngel: You have to remember this is Activision. They'll charge for anything. "...I'm scared because MW2 is always in the top places for weekly Steam downloads...scared that fellow PC gamers might buy into the DLC. v.v "
It's just Activision being greedy fuckers again right? Who didn't see this coming?
EDIT: Oh, and to those saying Halo 3's map packs were overpriced as well, yes they were, I refused to buy them because I thought it was ridiculous.
" @Coombs: Why are we supposed to pay for maps? UT2k4 has well over thousands of maps, and UT3 has just as many. BC2 has maps for free, L4D and L4D2 never had paid DLC, etc. Games never had paid DLC until this generation and it's the dumbest thing ever. I never paid for maps and I never will. "@Coombs said:
"Halo maps cost more and nobody bitches about their cost (Anymore than they bitch for paying at all) Whats the big deal here? Everyone have sand in their Vaginas? "Your one of them.
I really want Overgrown and Crash, but this price is ridiculous. The WaW map packs had 3 NEW maps AND a NEW Nazi Zombie map, where this has 3 new maps (1 of which is strictly FFA and HQ, from what I've heard), and two exact remakes. Activision needs to listen to their consumers, or pretty soon they won't have any true gamers buying from them.
If EA & DICE can offer maps for free, maps twice if not triple the size of your average MW2 map, then I have to wonder how IW & Activision can justify charging for five maps. It does seem a little heavily priced for the content given, especially when 2 out of those 5 maps are basically copied straight from COD4.
I will probably wait a while to try and get a rational opinion of the maps before I take the plunge on them. However gaining a rational opinion on anything even remotely connected with MW2 has never proven to be easy since the game is the biggest nerd rage generator I've ever seen.
I think it's kind of hilarious that it's so expensive and they call it the stimulus map pack. Guys, guys, they're just trying to help the economy here! Ha.
