Assault Rifle refers to a basic design of a weapon that combines the abilities of older long-range rifles and the rapid fire of sub-machine guns. Common designs include the M-16, M-4, AK47 (and 74), and the L85A1.
A stationary gun that automatically shoots at targets.
A cut of meat from the sides, belly, or back of a hog that's been cured, smoked, or both; usually sliced thin and fried. Goes good on sandwiches.
A common object in many games. When stepped on, the player is bounced into the air to reach a higher ground. More often known as jump pad.
A device that makes the user invisible, ranging from almost to entirely.
Coins have long been used in video games as both a form of currency and as a means of accruing points.
A knife-like weapon designed for quick stabbing attacks. Daggers don't often deal much damage, unless the foe is attacked repeatedly.
The energy force shield is a common element found in science fiction. By encasing an object in a bubble of energy, whether it be a single person or an entire city, the object is protected from its environment. Some energy shields deflect projectiles, lasers and radiation, or anything conceivable.
A popular weapon that is used in many shooters. The flamethrower is considered one of the most unique ways to defeat a foe.
A Gatling gun is a machine gun that uses multiple rotating barrels to rapidly fire bullets. Commonly mounted on vehicles or gunships, some larger characters may carry a hand held version.
A grenade is an explosive device traditionally thrown by hand, but may also be propelled by a rifle or launcher.
A gun that uses various types of grenades as ammunition.
Considered one of the most frequent and controversial implements of destruction in video games and real life, guns are devices that fire projectiles with explosive force.
A Jet pack is a backpack with rocket boosters built in that usually allows the wearer to hover or fly.
A traditional sword originating in Japan.
A knife is a commonly seen object in video games. Usually used for close quarters combat, or as a cutting tool.
A laser is a focused beam of light, invisible through the air without some other medium (such as smoke) to illuminate it. Lasers are often used in video games as part of a targeting system, or as an offensive weapon in their own right.
Mechs (or Mecha) are humanoid-like pilot driven vehicles often depicted in media as a combat machine. Early examples of Mech/Mecha in video games are often derived from early manga and anime as well as table-top games.
An explosive ordinance propelled by a rocket engine designed to blow an object to smithereens. A missile is often guided, in some way, to its target. For example; by laser, remote control, or computer/GPS.
The protection/destruction of a Moneyball is the primary goal and win condition during opposing team games of Monday Night Combat. Only the robots on each team are able to take down the protective shielding of the opposing team's Moneyball.
An indirect fire weapon which lobs shells (generally explosive) on an arcing trajectory. It is muzzle-loaded, capable of attacking targets at close range unlike traditional artillery.
An apparatus that fires nails or rivets. Not always designed as a weapon, but most often used as one.
A type of weapon that fires a conductive projectile to incredible speeds, using kinetic energy rather than explosive force.
A revolver is a type of handgun that holds ammo in a revolving chamber. It normally houses six rounds, and in games is usually more powerful than standard handguns.
A mechanical lifeform, typically exhibiting superhuman abilities, that can be found in games as either the main protaganist or as powerful enemies or allies.
The ultimate weapon attachment that uses telescope optics to enlarge distant targets thus increasing your accuracy.
The most powerful weapon at short range. Effective against Zombies, Nazis, Demons, etc. Videogame shotguns tend to have exaggerated inaccuracy at long range- real life shotguns are still fairly accurate over a decent distance, while videogame shotguns rarely go more than fifteen feet before becoming completely ineffective.
A throwing weapon used by ninja. They come in varying shapes and sizes, but generally aren't used for the purpose of eliminating the target, rather for distracting said target.
Creates smoke, often blocking vision
The weapon of choice for accuracy at long distances. The sniper rifle's slow rate of fire makes it ineffective for close range combat, but its high calibre round ensures that it inflicts maximum damage against the target.
