Everyone's Favorite Italian Finds His Way Onto the 3DS
I have to hand it to you. You totally got me to read this thing even though I heard all of this on the Bombcast, because I thought there was a Mario announcement. But now you're my favorite Italian, Vinny. Nice article.
I wonder if that hand model is hot? Wouldn't mind face raiding her....
Anyway fantastic article by Vinny!
Wow, that picture of the concept of a 3D pokemon game is the first thing that made me interested in this system if it actually did that and looked half way good. Too bad the 3D doesn't work for us Cyclops.
I'm pretty sure Vinny is the "Italian" in the title, considering Mario is never mentioned in this article. Pretty sneaky.
edit: only a handful of people actually got this wrong with their comments. My post is unnecessary. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Vinny...you need to write more stuff on this site. Your articles are AWESOME.
Fire those interns! I love the writing of you four! Does it mean anything bad if I can look at a few sentences and know exactly who wrote them? Hmm...maybe I'm on here too much.
Great write up Vinny. Dying to get my hands on one of these. I'll settle with playing vicariously through you for now though Vincenzo.
Great article. I am happy to hear that even without the 3D it's a good system, I think I will wait and see what kind of games will come out. I am hoping for some non-anime RPG's and turn based strategy!
The breadth of your talent never ceases to amaze me Vinny. I'd ask you to do more writing in the future if I didn't enjoy your video work so much. Drew has been doing pretty damn well though, so maybe you can take on more of a part in the editorial space?
If you want to...
I'm ranting aren't I?
Whiskey is always to blame.
Good read. I'm really glad to hear the 3D isn't the only big, new addition to this thing. It sounds like in the right hands, we could see some pretty creative stuff coming out of it. Unfortunately, none of the launch titles seem impressive enough for me to justify spending $250 + game cost on.
I'm sure at least Nintendo will release some games worthy of the device eventually but I'm a little more worried about the novelty of it all. The Wii is a good example of Nintendo's creativity that just fell quickly for me, and when it fell, it fell hard. Seems like the only games that are interesting to me on it are the ones that feature as little motion controls as possible now.
I bought a DS shortly after launch and loved it. Years went on, I just completely stopped playing it to the point where it has been out of battery for about 2 years gathering dust on my shelf, right next to that PSP thats been doing the same for over 3 years. Whether that says more about me and my willingness to play on portable devices, or the quality of games coming out for them is another debate. I rarely have an opportunity to play a portable game in a proper environment where my computer or consoles aren't already available so it takes a lot of motivation to get me to try out even a big release for handhelds. I have learned from past mistakes (that PSP was expensive!) and will be waiting a very long time, perhaps a few years, before jumping into the market again. When the time comes that the price is right and the games are more than tech demos, I can truly decide if it is worth my attention.
My favorite Italain is Leonardo Da Vinchi, dammit! Is he on the 3DS? No?
ah well, maybe when the next Assassin's Creed game comes around, lol
