Control point map in Team Fortress 2. Extended version of Gorge, focusing on two teams battling over all five points rather than attack and defense.
A remake of the classic Halo: Combat Evolved map Sidewinder, Avalanche is a downloadable map for Halo 3. Its large scale and plethora of vehicles make it ideal for Big Team Battle and Team Objective gametypes.
CP_Badlands is a remake of the classic CTF_Badlands from Team Fortress Classic. Much of the map has been changed and the map type has been changed from capture the flag to control point and arena.
Team Fortress 2 Payload map added with The Über Update.
Blackout is one of the downloadable maps added to Halo 3. This was one of the most highly requested maps in the game, as it is a remake of Lockout, a popular Halo 2 map revered for its competitive play.
Buccaneer bay is one of Battlefield Heroes' biggest maps and is notable for it's giant shipwreck in the center.
DICE's most recent map addition to Battlefield Heroes. Coastal Clash was named in a community naming contest after being showed a screenshot of it's windmill.
Cobble is a popular demolition (de_) map from the Counter-Strike franchise.
A mostly exact remake of the Halo: Combat Evolved multiplayer map Chill Out, Cold Storage was a downloadable map released for free by Bungie during their annual Bungie Day celebration on July 7, 2008.
Coldfront is a community-made control point map for Team Fortress 2. It was released in the Engineer update.
A well-rounded map, Construct is favored by many competitive players for its simple-yet-chaotic play mechanics. Various long hallways and open spaces require loads of team communication, but has enough cover that it doesn't feel unfair.
A control point map with five points in the style of Badlands. Its symmetrical layout provides for high-speed and well-balanced gameplay, while the multiple indoor routes, connected to larger outdoor arenas, provide a wide set of interesting and varied combat spaces.
Control point map in Team Fortress 2. Officially added to the game during the Australian Christmas update.
A community map added by Valve on the April 28, 2010 update. It was created by community member Jamie "Fishbus" Manson and is a standard control point map.
Single-stage, community-created Payload map in Team Fortress 2. Features long, twisting, four-point gameplay and a unique bomb cart.
The first Payload map for Team Fortress 2, Gold Rush is a 3 staged attacker-defender map centered around pushing a cart full of explosives into enemy territory.
Granary is a fast paced control point map in Team Fortress 2. This map consists of 5 control points that decide the outcome of both opposing teams.
Inspired by the Halo 2 map Lockout, one would assume Guardian's popularity would diminish when Lockout's proper remake, Blackout was released. A testament to its design, Guardian still holds up as one of the best competitive Halo 3 maps with a near-flawless layout.
High Ground is an asymmetrical storm-the-gates style of Halo 3 map. Its long lines of sight and advantages from, well, the high ground make this map more chaotic than others.
Hightower is a map for Team Fortress 2. It was introduced into the game with the Engineer Update. The object of the map is for the two teams to race bomb carts to a specific point. It is the second official Payload Race map released by Valve.
A map created specifically with the MLG in mind, Onslaught is a Forge map that has solidified in the MLG's Halo 3 Gametypes. With its sparse cover points and relatively small size, Onslaught can become very chaotic in a Capture the Flag match.
Rat's Nest is a series of rooms with an outside perimeter ideal for driving Warthogs. Its unusual design works surprisingly well for racing game variants, as well as larger scale Objective games.
Sandtrap is by far the largest multiplayer map in Halo 3. It is primarily used for Big Team Battle matches.
A love-it-or-hate-it map, Snowbound is notorious in Halo 3 for its many spaces to get spammed by a Shotgun or Mauler, grenades getting stuck in the snow causing them to miss their targets, and its too-open outside layout, although most players stay indoors. This map's appearance is usually accompanied by obscenities or the word "veto."
A large map with no Sniper Rifles might seem unusual to players unfamiliar with Standoff, but the idea works well on this downloadable Halo 3 map.
The Pit is one of the most popular and well-balanced multiplayer maps in Halo 3. It is also used in competitive MLG matches.
Thunder Mountain is a three-stage payload map for Valve's multiplayer shooter, Team Fortress 2. It was added into the game with the Engineer Update. The map is known for its very long track and the large number of buildings with several different rooms.
Upward is a single-stage Payload map added in the engineer update. The map takes place is an abandoned warehouse set atop a mountain... but why?
The second map in the PC shooter Battlefield Heroes.
Well is a map in the Team Fortress franchise.
