Time to post a few screenshots. I like how Dragon Age does it automatically at pivotal points in the story. 1440x900 2xAA on high for anyone who cares.

When talking about numbers, what else is there but theory? A larger display with the same number of pixels as a smaller display will have larger pixel pitch, and thus worse picture (if all other variables are the same), period. It may still look great, and I believe you when you say it does. However my point is, you repeatedly use it as an excuse to post large screenshots and then you also seem to mistakenly believe that a larger physical display also means more can be seen. You've claimed people that can't view your fullsize screenshots are "cheap" that use "crappy" displays which are "not good enough". There are countless people with both larger and better displays than you. It's hardly fair how you treat some posters, and your comments also show a lack of understanding of the difference between display size and resolution. You yourself can't view your own fullsize screenshots uncropped on this forum so what are you even talking about?" @Geno: I'm obsessed with using a hdtv as a display because of it's size. Maybe pixel pitch isn't the right word i'm looking for. I'm just saying it looks perfectly normal, like a giant pc display. I noticed my screenshots were clear, I just blamed it on fraps and accepted it. Is your samsung 1080p? If it is, I want you to try it with a dvi to hdmi cable. Dispite being technical, you claim is that it's too big and it will not look all that good as a display right? I'll take a screenshot of my screen and you can judge for yourself where or not, the screen looks distorted. Let me get my camera and take screenshots of a game. It's also clear you never tried gaming on a hdtv, dispite it looking the same on your screen, it still looks very clear at fullsize. I just think your wrong to think it somehow looks worst, wait a second while I get my camera if I can find batteries for it. Your one of the smartest ppl i've ever talked to here. However you don't have to insult me. I still say your claim is based on information and it's purely theoretical. Sort of like a general, in terms of warfare and strategy, sure you know that much. However as a commander, I have tested my theory and it's not just a theory, it's battlefield tested. Some of the smartest generals in the world can't outsmart everyone in the middle east for example even with theories. I'm just saying I have more experience with this and until you tried it on your 1080p display, if it's a 1080p samsung. I used to have a samsung hdtv myself btw, I refunded it twice, until then, you really are speaking out of theory. "
I'm thinking about making a video because I can't seem to capture it properly with a picture. Look I know how others sees these screenshots, sure they can't see everything, maybe I thought they could see a bit more than I thought they would. It turns out they can't after seeing zidd's screenshot. The best I can offer these ppl is to middle click or open in a new window for screenshots. If they could scroll right, it might of been okay, they could see everything, however that's my compromise. You can see my screenshots or at least 85% of it, if you have the same rez as me right as i've posted before. I post these screenshots for ppl like you.
You still haven't answered my question, about your samsung plasma, is it a 1080p display? Also do you have a dvi to hdmi cable or hdmi cable if you card supports it? I want you to give it a try, at some distance, maybe the pixels doesn't make it look shitty as you think it would. Rather it's the right size and maybe pc monitors are too small for their pixels. I know nobody really plays pc games on a hdtv, it doesn't make sense, however I didn't give a shit, I just gave it a try to see how it would be like and I was suprised. Until you tried it, don't say i'm wrong, it's just theoretical.
Alright I better play more games and get more screenshots. I probally need a new videocard, I guess i'll pick up a gtx470 this month then, maybe build a new rig next few month and sli that.
To be honest, this thread has become something of a clusterfuck. I'm all in favor of locking it and starting a new one with some ground rules--picture limits per post and possibly file size limit as well, if people wouldn't mind. My whole browser locks up for about a minute when I load up a page that's full of Hitman's shots because they're friggin ginormous.
This started out cool but eventually devolved into a territorial pissing contest made up of borderline incomprehensible technobabble.

Also I noticed you post alot of bioware games, I know you bought a lot of stuff during the recent steam sale. Indie games and stuff, I think it would be cool if you post those too because I don't always buy indie games. However I can't tell you what to do, only suggest it. Just as you can only suggest how my thread should be, which I don't think you have any real say in it.

Better yet, you can just open the screenshots in a new tab or page instead of bringing down the quality of my screenshots and limiting everyone else. There will be no point to a pc screenshot thread if we can't post pc screenshots more of how it was intended. Besides it's a thread in the pc section of the forums, not sure what your interest is for this thread.
Crysis has been owned.
At 1080p I can see 85% of the screenshot, I don't have a problem with it. At X900 rez, the cut off rate is nothing, I can see the screenshot in it's entirety. This thread is in the pc forum, you don't complain to neogaf if it takes a while to load do you? That's your problem.
Also my halo screenshots aren't shitty, it's very good. I don't have time to convert them from bmp to jpg. I'll just take screenshots with jpg, who cares about the compression, maybe it will load faster for geno.
Here are some 720p screenshots resized to accomodate everyone. I swear when you see it fullsize it has alot of detail.
The Neogaf thread is limited to 2 full res shots per post. Their forum format also accommodates larger sizes better. You alone post like 12 at a time, and you post multiple times per page. I'm guilty of posting lots of screenshots per post as well, but I keep mine a smaller size and also recognize the need to change.
@ATrevelan said:
I just don't think he gets it." @HitmanAgent47: The Neogaf thread is WAAAY better than this one and does not take anywhere near as much time to load because they've put a limit on how many full-rez shots there can be per post. They also manage to keep it civil, if you get my drift. "
Metro2033 has been owned. I'll only post a few of these screenshots here, might be too graphical intense for alot of ppl's monitor here.

Also, great picture. I swear, Ubisoft may very well have some of the best artists in the industry. If only they weren't so adamant about making it hard for PC gamers to like them lately."This is pretty much the code I use:
<a href="direct link for image here"><img src="same link" height=720 width=1280></img></a>
Just keep in mind you need to keep the aspect ratio of your images correct. So if you're posting 16:9, make sure the width:height is still 16:9 after resizing.
Using the code above, you can post in any image size you want, have it downsized for the forums, and still retain the ability to view the full screenshot size for those who want to by opening the link in a new tab (middle-click, or right-click then choose to open in a new tab). Simply clicking on them won't work since GB's image viewer interferes and scales the image down instead.
Oh, and the best part about it is you don't need two versions of the same image. Mine are all the same 1920x1080 images that I've captured. "
" @warxsnake: You may have missed my reply to you before since it was edited in after I made the post, so I'll post it again. Give this a try:ah Thanks, is there a way to have a percentage instead of fixed resolution, so say width=50%.

Or set a resolution for width, and have length set to auto or something.
@warxsnake: Setting percentages should work in any other case, if I'm not mistaken, but it's not working GB. You'll probably have to set the values manually.
Code for the above:
<a href="http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6651308/_0001_DOD.jpg"><img src="http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6651308/_0001_DOD.jpg" height=720 width=1280></a>
And at 1024*576:
<a href="http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6651308/_0001_DOD.jpg"><img src="http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6651308/_0001_DOD.jpg" height="576" width="1024"></a>
Percentages don't seem to work for some reason.
EDIT: It detects height automatically if you just set the width? Nice.
Honestly you haven't lived unless you are posting screenshots at X375 pixels. These are all from my old pc monitor btw, just some left over screenshots that I didn't post yet. I mean detail and resolution is overated, the trend is now all medium rez textures and low resolution and art design with lighting effects. You all made me see that clearly now.
Ok, I'm now officially ready to say it...
Mods: Would you kindly lock this thread?
We can always make a newer, better thread that doesn't have the baggage this one now carries. Some ground rules would be nice too. This one's had its share of good times, but it's time to take Old Yeller out back and shoot him (sorry if that should have been spoiler tagged.)
" Ok, I'm now officially ready to say it...I would have to agree. It wouldn't be such a problem if the OP wasn't such a petulant child that bullies other posters and refuses to take advice or criticism in a civil manner, but that's how it is. A thread with ground rules would cut down on the spam and also streamline posting.

According to zidd's thread, more than 50% of the ppl as I posted this, is using X1050, X1080p or X1200 rez and higher. That outweights everyone else with a X900 rez monitor or lower. Honestly you ppl can't take sarcasm.

Guess what, if you want to post in lower rez, your going to affect 50% of the forum who can see my screenshots at X900 rez, also we aren't friends. Your just another ati troll who hates me and is trying to get even. We don't lower our rez to accomodate the few ATI revelan. Where are your screenshots then? According to this poll, everyone with a X1050 or up monitor can see my X900 screenshots 100%, which makes up 50% or more of the users here. Geno is making up lies again ignoring the fact I can see the full X900 rez same with alot of ppl.

PS: I have a GTS 240. It's an OEM card and not top of the line, but it's nvidia. Sorry to disappoint you.
Who is this 50% you speak of? Even x900 screenshots are cut off at 1920x1080 and 1900x1200. I'm using a 1920x1080 monitor right now and all of your screenshots ARE CUT OFF. I don't know how much more plainly I can put it. If you think amputated screenshots look better than downsampled ones you are crazy. And what of the other 50%? You're saying that half the GB community doesn't matter simply due to their screen size? It's a problem for many people due to bandwidth or hard drive limitations to load certain pages when you spam dozens of fullscreen shots that almost no one can view. You are the only person acting like a fanboy right now." @ATrevelan said:
