Aaron Cash is one of the most senior and respected guards at Arkham Asylum. He aids Batman repeatedly when dealing with Arkham's numerous inmates.
One of Batman's/Bruce Wayne's closest friends. He is the butler/surgeon of the Wayne family, and is the closest thing that Bruce has to a parent.

Barbara Gordon is the daughter of Gotham City Police Commissioner James Gordon. She is the most prominently known woman to don the mantle of Batgirl, and following an incident involving The Joker, became paralyzed. Confined to a wheelchair, Barbara nevertheless still helped Batman and friends as the information broker Oracle.
Batgirl has commonly been known to be Barbara Gordon, the police commissioner's daughter, but her mantle has been taken up by 5 other women.
