Kind of sad. I actually enjoyed my time with Marvel Avengers. The good story mode aside, the online could've been great had they put some meaningful work into it, instead of making it a throw away microtransaction feature that wasn't even good with the transactions. The combat in the game is very fun and unlocking the full move set of characters and then prestige them even further to make them stronger was fun.

Its also sad that this game in a lot of ways is why a lot of gamers don't have faith in the Suicide Squad game that might get cancelled.

A lot of Anime these days haven't been that good, only a few stick out. Because a lot of them are the japanese guy suddenly finds himself in another world, or trapped in a video game nonsense. Or Japanese guy surrounded by booba girls and they're driving him crazy. Shows like that in the past like Tenchi Muyo, Girls Bravo, and others were entertaining and funny. Now its just borderline hentai nonsense.

Right now, I would say Vinland Saga is a good modern Anime currently in Season 2.

Goblin Slayer if you haven't already watched it is pretty good.

Actually, a lot of the good Asian based shows lately, have been live action. Like Alice in Borderland, The Glory, and My Name just to name a few on Netflix. And speaking of Netflix, it looks like I'll have to check out that One Piece live action. I thought I was done with that endless time waster, but too many people are screaming its praise, and its already green lit for a second season.

Playing the original Wild Arms helped me understand what was missing from FFVII, even though I overall think its a great game. But this is also the reason why I rate Wild Arms above FFVII. Wild Arms is a genuine classic JRPG that isn't talked about enough IMO. I also haven't played any of the sequels yet, outside of the Wild Arms 2 demo, which I enjoyed, but other games got my attention at the time. There is also the PS2 Wild Arms remake I've yet to play and Wild Arms 3, which is considered by fans of the series the best entry. I probably should get on that, since its available on PS Plus classic lineup and I'm still debating whether I want to keep premium or not with the price increase.

@daavpuke: What makes the Overwatch 2 thing on my personal list, is I believe they intentionally lied to the public and fans of the original game. The whole "we're making a PvE focused sequel with personal character story arcs" was just a smokescreen for their real agenda, to relaunch the game as a microtransaction heavy free to play game. To me, that is just dirty tactics, and its sad some people believed their excuses, then they eventually admitted the PvE was not going to happen like they promised. It's also a slap in the face of the people who actually bought the original game. There is a reason OW2 has lost a lot of players. I, myself, have yet to play OW2 since its so-called launch.

@sethmode: You're not alone. I also enjoyed Ghostwire Tokyo a lot and didn't understand the backlash against it by mainly the Giant Bomb and Gamespot critics, as the game reviewed quite well elsewhere. And I would love to see a sequel as I believe it would be even better, like how Evil Within 2 is superior to the original game

As far as the topic at hand, I think a digital only Series X with improved features would be nice. I have a digital PS5 and haven't missed the disc drive yet, as majority of games I played on my based PS4 were also digital with only a few being from a disc. And I barely used it as a movie player.

Yeah, its more like "How can we word this BS so you guys will accept it". Hopefully, developers continue to add the pressure, but seriously, Unity even thinking about doing this should be the nail in the coffin.

It seems like the betrayal factor is what is driving the hate so much for what Unity has done. That is hard for most people to get over. So yeah, they might have sealed the crown with their actions. But we still got some months to go before 2024. In the end, the whole thing might blow over with more and more people showing up and justifying what they done, or it will get worse. Time will tell.

I'm just glad they finally made another game after so many years. Hopefully, it was worth the wait.

Who knows, if this thing becomes big enough, it might convince Nintendo to make a full game.

@zombiepie: I have it on my personal list , and given how a lot of people in the industry and this website are talking about it, it might be seen as the hottest mess of 2023, unless something else happens. And it likely will

Out of that list: I pick the PS Plus price increase out of nowhere. Unity becoming greedy. Blizzard's Overwatch 2 con job. And the Redfall flop as the hottest messes so far.

2K Sports screwing people over with their basketball game is nothing new. And the sports heads will still buy the game and spend hundreds of dollars on microtransactions and ultimate teams. At this point, the fault is on the players. You can't blame 2K for milking them for all they're worth at this point.

Ray-tracing in Elden Ring making the game harder to run is no surprise. RT is very taxing on the system and it happens in almost every game its used on. This is why many console games that use it are forced to perform in 30fps mode.

The Nvidia RTX 4060 being a terrible budget card for the money is an honorable mention.

I also agree Final Fantasy XVI doesn't fit as its a solid game, whether some people like it or not. But Square-Enix constantly overestimating how well their games will do financially, and getting mad afterwards for it not meeting expectations certainly does.

Most people knew Gollum was going to be bad. No surprise there.

And Embracer is not a surprise. As I said in the earlier thread, as many people saw them failing with all of those companies coming a mile away.

That's all I can say based on the current list. I would say something about Twitter, but many people are still using it as I figured they would. So why bother.
