I think USFIV is out. Even the community for that game seems like they're ready to let it go and be replaced by SFV. That's the one old popular game they can seemingly remove (unlike UMvC3 and Melee) without a ton of people being pissed off.
Thanks all, I guess I am saying, is this the one I should try and go back to or a different one? They are mostly one dollar on steam I think each with some sonic sale.
Oh, OK. I think it's actually Sonic 2 that people tend to put on a pedestal as the best game in the series. I personally think Sonic 3 is just as good, but it doesn't get as universally praised as 2.
I don't like Sonic CD, but a lot of people seem to think of it fondly. I really didn't like the level design in it. However, for only $1 it's pretty much impossible to argue against giving it a shot.
You can seemingly just stand at midscreen daydreaming and not be under any credible threat until someone walks up to you and presses a button or throws a (reactable) fireball or something.
I'm confused as to what your point is here? You can daydream until one of the players does something? What? That's every fighting game.
Maybe he just means that he feels there isn't a threat all the time because the opponent can't be instantly in your face unlike faster games such as Marvel or most anime fighters? There isn't as many teleports and super fast movement options in Street Fighter.
@l1ghtn1n: The Jacqui and Cassie costumes are part of something called the cosplay pack, and are a preorder incentive for MK:XL. I don't think they'll be released for free. Even if they did eventually release them for free, and everything else was in the apocalypse pack my main gripe is still that KP2 comes with costumes that are already available for sale instead of all new ones like the last Kombat Pack had. It's not a big enough deal to stop me from buying KP2, but it's still disappointing.
I'd have to look at the numbers to make sure, but I feel like Injustice ended up getting more costumes than MKX if this is the end of it as a game of the year edition (XL) tends to imply.
It's kind of shitty that these new costumes presumably won't be in KP2, and instead KP2 comes with a lot of costumes that are already available. I know I would be annoyed if I had already bought those costumes when I could have just waited for KP2.
For those who are interested, you can now sign up for a chance at getting into the beta to try MKX's new netcode.
You have to have logged at least one hour of online playtime, but that's probably nothing for most people into fighting games enough to be looking at this thread.
It seems kind of weird that they hinted so specifically at GGPO when they don't appear to be actually licensing it. I guess they just didn't think most gamers would understand what rollback netcode means.
Anyway, I might give MKX a second try, but I'm honestly more excited about the prospect of their next game having good online play from the start.
