Hey, as someone who's played the game since it launched on PS4, it's fascinating reading about the experience of a new player coming aboard. Some hopefully helpful thoughts...

Focusing on completing junctions and opening new planets is your best move right now. The big persistent areas on Earth and Venus are new and shiny, but I wouldn't invest too much time in them right now. They're better to come back to once you have more warframes and stronger gear.

I see someone else already recommended you the Hek shotgun, but another solid weapon available a bit earlier (at MR2) is the Boltor assault rifle. If you're still using the MK-1 Braton, try to get it replaced ASAP. The MK-1 starter weapons are severely gimped in comparison to just about everything else in the game.

Ivara blueprints are gathered from hacking vaults in Spy missions, though the remaining parts only drop on the higher level planets so it may take you some time to get them. Harrow parts drop from corrupted enemies in fissures. Another warframe you might pick up randomly is Oberon, whose parts drops from "Eximus" enemies (more powerful variants enemies that have elemental auras.)

Oh, and if you've got PlayStation Plus, there's a free bonus pack you can download which gives extra platinum, temporary boosters and a few other goodies.

@someguyjohnson: For a while the GB Warframe community was very active, and we spread across several clans to make room for everyone. Eventually it kinda petered out, and I was just about the only one left. I'm still playing, but I ended up moving to the ResetERA.com clan which has been going strong since the game launched.

Good luck to you guys though, I've tried to peek in here every now and then and offered a few a spot in my current clan, but that's hardly ideal.

(Also, you should ask a mod about having this thread pinned. AFAIK VinnCo has been dead for years now, and it's certainly not active here on the site.)

@eccentrix: Yeah, the dev said it was coming, but I took quite a while. There was talk that it had a nasty bug at launch that impacted your ability to complete it, but hopefully they've fixed it by now.

@mightyduck: @rorie: @eccentrixHey, thanks. It's weird looking back at how I started this in 2012, out of stubborn defiance of the people who were already declaring it dead. The Vita is in its twilight now, but I figure I might as well keep going as long as there are new releases every month at least.

@puchiko: I use that app on my Android TV, and livestreams usually work perfectly.

There still retail release for this thing :O. Of course 3/5 games are visual novels.

There are actually still a bunch of limited physical releases for the Vita made by companies like Limited Run Games sold through their own websites, they have an audience of hardcore collectors who will buy just about anything release on physical media. Determining what should be listed as a "retail release" is getting harder though, as some end up just being download only or limited releases. And of course with the Vita getting a bit long in the tooth a number just end up not happening. (...and the current list of retail games is probably due for some clean-up.)

@blacklagoon: It sucks that 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim was cancelled but it makes sense considering it looks like it's not going to be out for some time, if even at all on PS4. It seems up in the air for now if that game will ever come out. I've enjoyed all their games on Vita and it's a shame that one won't be joining the collection.

I wouldn't count the PS4 out though, Japanese developers have a long tradition of sticking to the previous gen of consoles for years after the successor is out. The Vita itself suffered from this as several publishers kept putting out PSP games in 2012 and 2013.

@superslidetail: I think they've refocused on podcasts lately, they're not producing a lot of video content.

Interesting, I recognize several of these things from Operation Abyss: New Tokyo Legacy by the same developer. I was really hyped for this game when it was initially came out, but then they announced an expanded version for the Vita so I held of getting it. It was evenually released in English in the US, but it doesn't look like it will ever come out in Europe...
