@jonnyashley: Stealth was the one thing I didn't see that made me not think it was Tenchu at all. I think creeping up on fools is definitely stealthy, no question, but not Tenchu stealthy. This was way more in-your-face action with some mildly sneaky encounter options. Maybe it will have full-on ninja mode, though, I won't write that idea off. This also seemed more fantastical.
@hakunin: It doesn't have to be a Ninja Theory game, does it? They never owned the IP, but I could be way off in my prediction regardless. A lot of the changes in that reboot were present in the DMC5 footage, thinking about it more, so I'll happily cede my DMC2 optimism if it's misplaced.
I thought it was just me who thought this looked absolutely nothing like Tenchu other than yo, Japan. Edit: there are blatant similarities that I missed, I've been rightly corrected, but it's not a stealth game from what I can see.
Looks rough and early, but there's something potentially really special here. That Souls-ass door opening animation made me far more excited than it should have, too.
The DMC reboot was great and its own cool thing -- it will get a sequel, I'm confident of that -- but DMC1, 3, and 4 have always been great, and I will never be disappointed that one of the greatest character-action developers is stepping up to the plate. Also, it just looked fucking good.
