Yayayayaya. I didn't even like Prey that much, but the music was amazing, and coming from Mick Gordon who did the Doom sountrack is even more suprising.
@scylo: Yeah, the fact that they continually give those games a pass is a little disappointing. The costume aspects don't destroy the game in anyway, but the addictive nature is still very much built into the animations to deliver a euphoric feeling of winning, much like slot machines. And the fact that Dota 2 shows the items that you could have won (often leaving them until the very end, and more often then not being given the lesser item) is the same as seeing two "lucky sevens" and then a random third at a slot machine. So close, yet so far away.
I don't have a problem with people loving a game and then wanting to put more money into the game (I've thrown money at Dota 2 for The International compendiums each year), I just wish the guys would read into some of the addictive/gambling aspects a lot of loot boxes in games are being built around.
Haven't even hit play and know this is gonna be a 300+ comment shit storm. I for one love the idea that Dan fucks everything up, Abby tries her best but fails, and Alex gets everything back on track. The circle of life?
In all honesty I kinda knew that was gonna happen with this movie. Felt like they had a good mix of commentary and quietness during the F&F movies, but as soon as you add a foreign language, subtitles and another person, it becomes pretty hard to get anything out of this commentary track. Although listening to Abby slowly sink into the abyss of drunkenness was funny.
Hadn't seen Battle Royale in a bunch of years and was happy to rewatch it with a bunch of beers, but the commentary was kinda annoying at times. At least try to pay attention to the movie.
Yeah I can agree with this. The group has great chemistry together but that also means when they go on a tangent, they really go on a tangent. That works great for a regular podcast setting but is distracting in a "watching a movie together" setting.
I still regularly enjoy just watching the crew - all of whom I love - streaming this highly watchable game.
@vinny However, if you guys ever want to mix things up you could try out the custom game modes?
One thing that would be sweet would be East v West with the circle shrinking faster so it's more frantic.
Yep totally agree, not sure if you're a fan, but the stuff the Polygon crew are doing with Awful Squad is great, playing games with the community and most recently The Verge dudes on custom maps keeps things fresh (Justin McElroy singing Jimmy Buffett also helps).
@mikerd: Yeah, that amazing scene in the warehouse between the two about the wrist watch really made that scene hit home, shame the guys seemed lost to the significance of the watch playing the chime.
