I think that it's pretty funny that TMZ is the only website that's reporting this. It seems like the major outlets would have picked it up by now.

If it's true then this is a very sad day. Michael Jackson is/was awesome.

Godspeed you crazy dumbass!

@Alphazero:  You know what's really funny? I have seen that picture before and she actually does look extremely hot there. Like, severely hot. I think big noses are hot though. Maybe that's weird. I don't know. Maybe I'll start a poll on the message boards.

In completely related news, I was pretty stoked when Mario Kart Wii came out. My roommate and I had hours upon hours upon hours of fun playing Double Dash so we had boners for new Mario Kart. I walked to downtown Seattle from Capitol Hill (you Seattle peeps know what I'm talking about) to pick it up. I got back home and we popped it in. We played it for about twenty minutes before we took it out of the Wii and never played it again because battle mode had been completely destroyed. I mean seriously, how do you take the best part of one of your most popular franchises and completely destroy it. It seriously doesn't make any sense. We played one round of battle mode and we didn't see each other ONCE the entire match. That was when we took it out and got rid of it. I think my friend David has it now. I could care less.

That MAY have been the best $60 I ever spent though because on my way downtown I ran into Ken and Roberta Williams. They couldn't believe that I recognized them. I told them that they were rad. That is all.

EDIT: Roberta Williams is no longer that hot, FYI. She's very nice though.

Everything I know about J-Pop or J-Rock I got from Cowboy Bebop, FLCL and Ouendan. The music for all of those is stellar (even thought the majority of the music from Cowboy Bebop doesn't really fall into either of those categories.)

Back in the day, a co-worker of mine introduced me to Pizzicato Five. They are AWESOME as well. Another Japanese group that I love is the Boredoms. If you haven't heard the Boredoms, you should because they will blow your mind.

ALSO, Guitar Wolf. I got to see Guitar Wolf about three days before Bass Wolf died. I was actually in line at their booth to buy my Guitar Wolf shirt and Bass Wolf was sitting at a table about five feet away from me. I didn't say anything because I can't speak Japanese at all. I've kicked myself ever since then. If you don't know Guitar Wolf, you should listen to them as well. Very entertaining. Guitar Wolf also starred in a movie called "Wild Zero" which I highly recommend.

Back in the day, I was a huge fan of point and click adventure games. I'd get stuck and I'd beat my head against the desk for hours and hours before I would be able to advance and I LIKED IT! This one time, I actually wrote to Sierra On-Line for help and they sent me back a very helpful letter explaining what I was supposed to do. I can't remember where I was stuck, but I know that it was 'The Dagger of Amon Ra' which meant that it was a Roberta Williams game which probably meant that I had to restore a saved game from WAAAAY earlier to pick up an item that I had missed at the start of the game. Good times.

Since I've gotten older, I don't have the patience for crap like that anymore so I usually alt+tab out of the game where Gamefaqs is open and waiting for me.

That's pretty much all I had to say. I primarily wanted to complain about Roberta Williams. Carry on...

@Video_Game_King:  I remember getting both Ghosts 'n Goblins and Castlevania shortly after I received my NES on the BEST BIRTHDAY EVER. I never beat Castlevania either, but it felt as though it was actually possible to beat that game. Ghost 'n Goblins... no. Just no. I think I got to the third level two or three times. At some point a game just stops being fun. That never happened with Castlevania, but Ghosts 'n Goblins can suck it.

Also, while we're talking about difficulty in games, I never had a problem landing the plane in Top Gun but I could never get refueled. For funsies, I went to virtualnes.com a few months ago to try the game out again and I landed the plane AND refueled successfully on the first try.

Also, I finally got around to playing Psychonauts late last year and I didn't have any problems with the Meat Circus. I know it's been mentioned millions of times elsewhere, but that game is genius and you need to play it if you haven't already.

@Video_Game_King:  What do you mean when you say that Ghosts 'n Goblins lacks legitimacy? Also, I don't know what Umihara Kawase is so I'm going to have to look that up. Sounds Japanese...

@Cloneslayer:  Actually, I didn't think Mega Man 9 was that hard either. I died a lot on my initial playthrough, but when you die you usually figure out what not to do the next time you do the level and it's cake. When I got to Wily's castle I just stocked up on energy tanks and I was golden.

This one time I was hanging out with some friends and this guy named Aaron (who is awesome) claimed that he beat Ghosts 'n Goblins. I, of course, called him out because that was obviously a lie. Nobody has beaten that game because it is impossible. You might find tool assisted speed-runs online and you may post them in the comments here, but that doesn't count.

So yeah, what is the hardest game that you have completed that other people think is supremely difficult? I'm fairly certain that I almost beat Ninja Gaiden II on the NES. It's been a while, but I think that I beat Jacquio but the flat-top, sunglasses dude got shot or something and his blood flowed down and touched the Dark Sword of Chaos (TM) and Jacquio came back to life and attacked me hard. I never beat that second form. I think that was pretty close to beating the game, maybe.

I'd have to say that the hardest game that I actually beat that other people have problems with would be Batman on the NES. That game was rad. I actually owned Batman, unlike Ninja Gaiden II, so I had more time to play it. That's probably why I was able to finish it.

Also, when I had this conversation with Aaron I was not aware that you had to beat Ghosts 'n Goblins twice to actually finish the game. Also, Aaron is a filthy liar but I still love him to death... liar.

I'm a BIG Sierra fan. I would have to say that the most hilarious game that I've ever played is Freddy Pharkas: Frontier Pharmacist. Highly recommended if you can track it down. Someone earlier mentioned King's Quest VI. That is by far the best King's Quest game and I recommend it highly as well. The Space Quest and Gabriel Knight series are both extraordinary as well.

You absolutely can't go wrong with Lucasarts. Day of the Tentacle is absolutely amazing. The whole premise for that game is damn genius that you'll be grinning ear to ear the entire time. I remember laughing so hard that I would be bawling when I first played it (This also happened throughout my entire playthrough of Freddy Pharkas). Sam & Max and the Monkey Island games are great as well. Anything by Tim Schafer is on the shortlist of best games ever, so keep that in mind.

Last one to recommend would probably be Westwood's Blade Runner. I only played through the game once myself, but apparently the game changed a bit each time you played it. For example, the first time you play through the game one particular will turn out to be a replicant but they may not be one the second playthrough. Blade Runner did a flawless job of capturing the look and feel of the movie and it should probably be played by everyone. No pressure though.
