@goulash_enjoyer: I imagine it's similar to the Sims or Mario Party content for a lot of people, myself included in this case, in that there's an endless potential for amusing shenanigans (and perhaps a bit of lighthearted suffering) and it's fun to watch entertaining personalities experience and engage with them. In the case of the Souls/Bloodborne content it often involves rotating staff, so it's fun to see how new people interact with the series. Personally, I watch Vinny's DS1 run with commentary from Rory and Ian, in full, at least once every 6 months or so. Brad's Demons Souls run is up there as well; never gets old.
@lordloc: As amusing as the mix up was, being from St. Louis originally and growing up as a huge Rams fan, the Chiefs may as well have been from Kansas for many of us, honestly. Same thing with the Royals.
@gvalo: Holy shit I'm with you there. I'm on a non-profit marketing/Dev team of 7 people and we've been doing stand up 10 at 10am meetings and trying to force Trello boards for 2 weeks sprints for months now. All of us hate it, but it doesn't seem to be leaving anytime soon.
@dashibuya: Hey, one less shithead in the community is a win for the community. Not sure why you felt the need to share your...oh, right, attention. You just wanted attention. Well then, congrats, now off with you!
@bathala: My heart sank when he said it because I already know how it's going to go. That being said, the deliberations are always just fun and, well, games, so I never get too attached to what the end result may be. While last year and this one have a couple "oh no, please, anything else" games for me, either way it's been another great year for games with far too many that I still have yet to get around to.
All I want for Christmas is an option to block/hide the impossibly broken, sad fucks in the comments like this one. There are so many amusing, insightful, and genuinely fun people in this community that I would pay significantly more for my premium sub to filter these out.
That said, keep up the great work GB. Hope you all have a great holiday season and I look forward to the rest of the GOTY content!
My girlfriend and I were at a Pinballz arcade here in Austin about a year ago, and with her being a bit younger than me (30/25) I was showing her around the older arcade cabinet section which at the time included NFL Blitz. She asked about us playing it, and I had an immediate response of "I'm not sure about this, what if Jeff Gerstmann pops up to challenge me and just fucks me up in front of everyone?" Her being a GB fan as well it was a nice inside joke, until the guy at the cabinet next to us (can't remember what it was) laughed, looked over and gave a nod in solidarity as a duder. That was my mutual GB fan interaction, but unfortunately it didn't lead to us having a goofball clan of GB friends here.
Watching this while going through Borderlands 3 as Amara feels appropriate. I haven't fisted this intensely since what did you really think I was going to admit here?
@drfat32: I finally caved and gave it a shot last week and couldn't even finish it. I spent most of the movie in denial that it could possibly be that unfunny and awful since I've heard nothing but praise otherwise, and I generally enjoy all the actors in other work.
