@ripelivejam: I'm glad I'm not the only one who's seeing that lol I feel like it's been getting increasingly more obnoxious over the last few months, like people from the youtube comments weren't getting the attention they craved so they came over here to stir things up.
For some reason when I first casually glanced at the thumbnail my immediate thought was "what the fuck is Illidan Stormrage doing on a boat? And where are his wings?"
It's not often that I come across something not specifically comedy related that makes me literally laugh out loud until it hurts, but God damn, that fat chocobo got to me in a way I didn't know I needed.
@grondhog: As someone who recently-ish turned 30 (this year is moving along too quickly) I'm right there with you. I'm pretty sure my mother has multiple old binders full of cards/duplicates in storage somewhere that Jan opened up in this episode. It was actually quite a nice throwback. Now I just want to download the pinball game again.
@presidentofjellybeans: I sincerely hope some of you all have far less miserable, petty lives outside of this site than you do here. The amount of whining and lame comments on the value of the site, personal gripes with staff, or coastal content in general on this post is astounding. If you don't want to be here then by all means, there's a rather large door to leave a lasting mark on your ass on the way out. Your negativity won't be missed in the slightest. Many of us would happily contribute the amount of your subscription to keep the site running without you. I don't understand why people feel the need to make comments that are so passive aggressive when the opportunity to find something more suited to your interests is so easily available to you.
@curufinwe: You certainly won't be missed. GB's content has always been first and foremost based in what they want to do, not necessarily what's popular or relevant at the time. That's what sets them apart from many others and that's what makes them so valuable and loved by many in the community. Fortunately with how prevalent gaming culture has become, there are plenty of other options for you to explore and find what works for you.
As an aside, the whole "if this is an indicator of..." type posts are aggressively lame for the fact that there's no telling what GB will do next at any given time.
The fact that this and Skyrim had such a contentious showdown will always baffle me. The disclaimer here is that this site has always been personality driven, and to that point I'm all for whatever happens because I truly enjoy the staff and the unique take they bring to GOTY whether or not I agree. I've never cared much for the Saints Row series, though I've played enough of them all to agree with the majority on which ones seems to be better than others and that 'Gat out of Hell' is essentially a criminal offense, but they've always been "shittier GTA" after I'd already grown tired of Rockstar's sense of humor and gameplay. I enjoy the genre enough to give them a go each time (typically if a friend buys them or when they're on PS+ or GWG), but what Skyrim was to me personally, and even considering the impact it's had on the industry in general, I'll never be able to actually understand the argument here.
