Just noticed that you also lose the electric lantern as it is not found on the John's inventory in the post game.

Also it appears that either Rockstar did not put enough effort on the post game writing or John is an asshole. Here is his conversation about Arthur who chose to sacrifice himself (with max honor) to save John:

Marston really felt bland compared to Arthur (and to Sadie and to Charles and to almost every other character), so the unsurprising "twist" that you end up playing as him was really a bummer. I was really hoping for that they would not go for the most obvious things because there was potential for something more interesting. How about Arthur survives even though game really hammers it out early on that he wont make it - a broken man finds a new place in the world? How about you play as Dutch for the rest of the game - a man who regrets betraying and losing his best friend?

Edit: It sucks that you loose all of the ingredients, apart from things like gator eggs and rare jewelry that you need for crating the trinkets. Also some of the unfinished stranger missions resets their status. Like the one about gunslingers did not but the Mr. White/Black escapee one went back to the start.

  • Ability to take off weapons from your horse inventory. I am never going to use those starter guns and it is hassle to cycle trough them.
  • Make it some the varmint riffle ammo does not disappear constantly.
  • Hotkey for binoculars.
  • Ability to hitch your horse without circulating the spot for few minutes.
  • Horses at higher bonding levels dodge trees and jump over tiny rocks instead of ramming into them.
  • Honor system fine tuning. Like I can shoot two drivers faces into mush without no problem but if accidentally sit on their carriage, I lose honor somehow.

Pro tip: if you encounter the marksman challenge stranger from Mexico and you lose to him (for example if the game does not let you draw on bird round if you have a repeater selected), you can shoot him in the face, loot him for the money and do what you like to the body. He will later reappear, greet you in same friendly manner as before and let you try the challenge again.

@ibmer: But everything is not there in the help section - lot of it is but not all. For example the thing that Dan mentioned in the first Quick Look about changing your position in a riding formation.

Ahh, that "fun" feeling trying to tame your first horse and reading the info from the black box while holding on to a bucking horse.

There is so much polish in this game - especially in visual and audio department, so it is jarring to see how bad the tutorial/info stuff is. It seem like it hasn't evolved since GTA3. Somebody will still explain something to you, most likely while you are doing something game play wise and all the important stuff is just in tiny black box in the upper left corner. Why would I look there when something interesting is happening in the middle of the screen and it might require my input. Same with the icons and prompts that appear on the bottom or in lower right corner. Is this really the best they could come up with?

I would like more ass and titties in games, but I want it to be classified as "empowerment".

@ivdamke: I played the Steam version about a month ago. Still tons of bugs. Camera gets stucked under the Avenger, long load times, demands more gpu on low settings than Witcher 3 on high, shot animations go wonky, often you loose ability to control everything but the camera and so on. Literally almost every mission has at least one buggy aspect about it.

How about patching the horribly buggy vanilla version?
