@Christoffer: Antagonist is the right word and as for the nature of the hero I'm mainly interested in examples with non-criminal heroes even though I used Saint's Row in my first post
Although it's not part of the main story, Skyrim has some morally grey areas in the stormcloak/imperial battle. Both sides have good intentions. You choose whether to join the rebellion or the empire, and no matter what you choose, at some point you feel you might've picked the wrong side. And there's of course a alot of "misunderstood" antagonists. Coach Oleander (and Raz's own father) in Psychonauts comes to mind.
When you say "villain" I assume you mean "antagonist". It's pretty common there's morally good natured antagonists, it's all depending on the nature of the hero (criminal gang in saints row). For example, any star wars game where you play the as the empire, Overlord, Evil genius, Mafia, Pay Day (sorry, couldn't find more examples at the top of my head).
I'm reading Patrick Rothfuss's The name of the Wind. Thanks to Will Smith who tipped me off. It's mostly amazing, even though I'm kind of tired of fantasy.
@AhmadMetallic: I'm happy if there's 10 people playing, then I'm sure to join up. It's usually 1-2 players when I look it up wich is just sad.
Considering the TNT server crashes, is there a stability issue on the GB servers? I was wondering if that's the reason why people abandoned it. Just a thought.
I had a great deal of fun on the US GB server following the TNT broadcast. The only thing that stopped me me was the time (4:30 right right in northern europe) and my alcohole promille (4,30 right now in northern europe).
I wich we will keep this up. Join us on the GB servers and have some stupid fun. Whatever your skill level and whatever your intents are (seriously, if you just want to practice jets... do it).
