  • Katamari Damacy and We Love Katamari
  • Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts II
  • Okami
  • The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker
  • Odin Sphere

I'd appreciate having an excuse to play any of these games again, and I would love to see them in HD.

I know you mention he wouldn't be into first-person shooters, but would the presence of first-person shooting be a deal-breaker? If not, Deus Ex:HR is a pretty fun world to lose around 30 hours in; the shooting is there, but that game is really more about soaking up the atmosphere and getting up to shenanigans in the hub cities.

For me, <> is similar to the word duder in that it makes me wish I could punch people through the internet.

I haven't heard of a lot of groups people are listing here. I can't tell if that's because I'm out of touch or if there's just so much music out there catering to different tastes that most people are able to find groups that fit their particular niche. The second thought is kind of encouraging.

I'll always be a little disappointed that Platinum ended up going in the direction that they did. I understand that they make really good games, but those games aren't really for me. I originally became interested in those guys because I loved Okami, and I was really hoping they'd end up making more in that vein. Granted, having made God Hand and the Viewtiful Joe games, I guess Clover always tended a little more toward madness. It's just not what I loved them for.

I really liked the endings of the first two God of War games. I know the ending of 2 is a cliffhanger, which I'm typically not a fan of, but that cliffhanger is so awesome it kind of overcomes my inherent distaste for them.

I remember not really liking Montreal or anything past that part nearly as much as I enjoyed running around and getting up to mischief in Detroit and lower Hengsha. I guess you get the opportunity to move freely through Detroit a bit more in the back half of the game, but by that time everything had gone so nuts I felt like I didn't really have the opportunity to enjoy it. Honestly, they could have taken out all of the heavily guarded bases and general combat and I would have been fine with that. The game I really want basically just consists of me running around solving mysteries and talking my way out of every situation I can.

Although I'd say the ability to robo-slap hookers and throw vending machines at people is also pretty important.

I'd recommend skipping over the Metal Gear Solid games, but only because they're not very good.

Oh, also, if you're up for something small and dumb, I recommend Age of Zombies. It's a PSP mini, and it's my favorite version of that game.
