I've been with Giant Bomb since the beginning and I will continue to visit this site for great content by Jeff, Ryan, Brad, Vinny and others. I've always been interested in writing reviews and since the Giant Bomb community is, I thought atleast, full of cool, like minded people, I believed it'd be a great place to post my work. I received tons of recommendations and compliments, especially since I put video reviews that I edited together in each written review. 
 
Then a joke I made was misinterpreted, I tried to defend myself and an army of trolls came out of the woodwork, Before this incident, I had perfect recommendations on the majority of my reviews and only had a total 20 dislikes in all. After this incident, each and every review was shit on and I quickly rose to over 130. Each time I would put up a review, it would quickly get flooded with dislikes within hours of it's posting. Some might say I can't take criticism and it's probably just people who disagree with my opinion, but that is not the case. It's always the same number of dislikes in the same amount of time. I'm sure it's hilarious to them to sit in front of their computer all night, refreshing my profile over and over again, waiting for me to post something just so they can anonymously tell everyone it's terrible. 
 
I've been told to ignore it and not let it get to me, and I tired that route, but there's only so long you can take seeing your writing being buried under a pile of negative feedback as mediocre reviews rise above it. People listen to that feedback rating and when they see a review with 6 out of 19 recommendations, it's extremely unlikely they are going to click on it and see the quality for themselves. I figured the trolls would get bored sooner or later and move on to terrorize a new victim, but it's been a month and they are still going strong. 
 
So, as of now, I will no longer be posting my reviews on Giant Bomb. I'll still make blogs about my video reviews and post them in the appropriate forum, but I'm not going to waste my time watching my writing get undeserved hate. I've gone ahead and removed every review I've ever posted, with the exception of my two highest recommended since around 40 recommendations doesn't happen very often. 
 
You might think I have a big ego. You might think I'm sitting here saying "How dare these peasants dislike MY work. It's on par with the holy gospel!" , but that just isn't the case. I don't mind if people disagree with me or offer constructive criticism. What I can't stand is people telling the world my work sucks based on something other than the writing itself. I know I'm no Jeff or Ryan here, but I'm typically proud of my work. Some trolls have tried to tell me my work is of poor quality, always failing to give any specific reasons, but I've been told by people alot more respectable than them that my writing is quality. Two smaller websites have asked me to write for them in the past, one of whoms offer I'm likely to accept so I'm going to go out on a limb and say I'm doing something right. 
 
I know some people following me are only doing so for my reviews and I apologize to them. Blame the trolls. They win. I'm done.
