I started writing a reply, but instead it turned into a bloody blog post (which I have posted now). I'm eagerly waiting for this game. The money sorta makes sense in where it is going, it seems like a ridiculous dev cycle because we're not used to seeing it from "I have an idea for a game" to "welp the scope crept up way too hard and now we're committed to this behemoth." I'm going to remain optimistic.

You knew it was a sick day or a teacher development day when you got to hear Bob Barker on the TV at 11AM. My grandmother used to tell a story of me as a kid, probably 2 or 3, where I would hear the theme song for the show and come running from wherever I was in the house yelling "ON DOWN" and park myself directly in front of the TV for the whole hour.

I also really enjoyed him in Happy Gilmore, and then the video him and Adam Sandler did a few years ago as a follow up to the fight they had in the movie. There's also a TV interview he did as a joke where he talks about his early life, including World War II where he says he was drafted but when the Germans heard he was coming onto the battlefield they all dropped their guns and gave up. He was a funny guy.

Bob Barker had a big part of my life, it's the only game show besides Fear Factor I enjoyed, and I just enjoyed Fear Factor because who doesn't wanna see people do weird shit for money? I like Drew Carey as a comedian and his TV show in the 90's was excellent. I've gotten used to him as the host of The Price is Right but it won't be the same without Bob.

I'm going to go Rainbow Six Siege. It has constant updates and it's relatively balanced and fresh.

CS:GO is something i've played a lot of (and the other counter strikes for thousands of hours in total) I feel that game is stale now. We've been playing de_dust2 for 20 years now.

Rocket League is also a fantastic game, I can't find anything I dislike about it.

League of Legends is okay, accessible and it's easy to sell as a spectator product since you don't have to understand it beyond the core level to enjoy a match.

Fortnite should never have happened IMHO - battlegrounds games are a joke, like early access.

Overwatch is good but not for me, not to say I'll never play it but I am not interested.

Super Smash Bros. Melee is good but does not have the popularity of the previous titles.

@glots: I'm not sure if you should qualify it as a shooter really. You spend a lot of time trying to manage how little ammunition you have. RE2 was the first horror game I ever played and I remember spending a lot of time out of ammo trying to get out of situations.

Doom Eternal, Dirt Rally 2.0 and Cyberpunk 2077 if it actually comes out this year. Those are my front runners at this time.

I've eaten a handful of these, and honestly I feel that some of them are cooler for presentation over actual taste. Quail for example is alright...but small. Kangaroo is incredibly lean but alright.

I've been reading a couple books, first one is Bloody Rose by Nicholas Eames. It's part of a group of books based in a D&D like universe. The first book is my favorite of the two right now, but we'll see what else comes out. This one is quite good, don't get me wrong but I related to the characters more in the first book is all.

Also I'm reading The Hackers Playbook 3. It's pretty simplified so even a non-professional infosec person can grasp the concepts.

I really enjoyed the game for Tomorrow Never Dies. It wasn't great but I had a good time with it.

Wildling

A poor man's Twilight. Flip the tables of a coming of age monster movie gem like Teen Wolf, add a sympathetic Liv Tyler with some ignorant hillbilly and douchebag teenager "bad boy" stereotypes with a lot of awkward silence and dash in events that leave you wondering what is going on, don't forget to ignore character motivation entirely for good measure. From start to finish the only reason I was watching was to get some answers, many of which I did not receive.

0/10 - Should be a good Mystery Science Theatre movie but otherwise don't waste your time.

@efesell: Haha the one I had was pretty good. I didn't expect the results.
