2015 GOTY

Year has been a weird one, with gaming time broken up from moving twice and a new job.

Games I wish I had Played:

Undertale

Axiom Verge

ARK: Survival Evolved

Various Telltale Games

List items

  • Long time fan of the Witcher series, no one does compelling character storytelling in video games the way CD project does. And for me this year it offer the exact escapism I needed in between interviews.

  • Been sitting on the outside looking in on Fromsoftware for awhile now, finally took the plunge and found a game that feels out of time, like a kid with a game guide map across my lap. Throw in aggro and pulling mechanics with high risk high reward that feel tapped from FFXI circa 2004. Many say the first Fromsoft game you play is your favorite, we shall see.

  • The City management Sim that I've been looking for for the last 4 years. Was the perfect game to play on a laptop and unwind while traveling for interviews.

  • My surprise of the year, splashing on Playstation plus seemingly right as I needed it. Need to put some more time into the PC version.

  • A game I have barely gotten to touch this year, hopefully will finally deep dive into it early next year after I wrap up the last handful of hours of Witcher and Bloodborne

  • Game that has STYLE. Reminds me that I will throw money at who ever gives me a pirate game (sea or space) with ship to ship combat with a Nemesis system from Shadow of Mordor

  • Almost forgot grow home which was an excellent palette cleanser between bloodborne bosses.

  • The Back part of this list from here are games I have watched Lets Plays of instead of playing myself.

Until Dawn, teen slasher David Cage makes for a solid combination.

  • A certain brand of Sci-Fiction that isn't often portrayed in video games.

  • The world needs more FMV

  • This is an odd one to put on the list, the more I see of it the more I am interested and compelled by the new crafting construction mechanics, but the less interested I am in the world and dime a dozen Bethesda characters. Maybe will look into playing post DLC and mods.
