Pretty much how a Wolverine game should play. 0

Pros * The game takes full advantage of what makes Wolverine who he is in terms of his abilities. Whether that's the healing feature which actually shows the bullet holes in his body and him actually regenerating missing... Features. Or him using his claws as if they were actually claws and tearing the enemy to shreds, quite literally in many cases. * Simple controls let you masterfully do the above mentioned tearing enemies to shreds with ease, no complicated combos. * The game bounces backward...

Way, way, way too short. But it's a fun ride while it lasts. 0

Pros The games over the top nature makes it easy to get into whether you're a 50 Cent fan or not.If you ARE a 50 Cent fan theres unlockable music videos and such which you'll probably enjoy.Ragdolls seem virtually weightless so the way they fly back when you shoot them is amusing and satisfying.Cuss button, heh. Cons The game is pitifully short. I finished it in just under five hours on normal difficulty and I'm not that great at shooters, honestly.Vehicle sections aren't that good.Helicoptor...

The flaws don't much get in the way of the fun, but they're there 0

ProsLight strategy elements improve what would otherwise be a rehash of the first game.Executions are satisfying.ConsI don't consider myself a graphics whore, but GFII's visuals do look somewhat dated.Building layouts are reused with very little change, making the taking over of businesses and rackets somewhat dull after awhile.Difficulty connecting and staying connected to online gamesIn comparison to the first game, the character creator is somewhat lacking. Before playing the first Godfather g...

When you're leaping around it's awesome, when you're not.... 0

ProsGood sense of movement.Melee combat though generally not the option you'll choose is fun and well animated. In a world where every other game is grey and brown, the bright colors in this title make for a welcome change.ConsGun play isn't quite as fun, though when push comes to shove it's generally the combat option you'll take because it's quicker.Coming across sections where the next course of action isn't immediately obvious breaks the flow of all the neat acrobatic stuff you get to do.It's...

Not the biggest RE fan, but co-op made it work for me. 0

ProsMercs mode offers some replayabilityBoss battles are funShooting Zombies/Las Plagas/Whateveryoucallthem is fun, satisfying.Co-op turns a good time into a great one.ConsCan't move and shoot.Sheva isn't really an interesting character.Laser Sight sucks.I'm not going to pretend I know the first thing about Resident Evil.I played #4 a bit and enjoyed it well enough.I've seen the movies and while I know they take liberties with the plot, I still quite enjoy them for what they are. But the games n...

I'm not great at it, but I find it a nice break from other games. 0

I'm not going to do a review in my typical format, because I haven't explored it in depth. And I'm probably not going too. I don't really play Tiger Woods, I just find it relaxing somehow.Even though I suck at it. So I'm going to talk about the game a little bit, I'll attach a score at the end and you can read into it whatever you like. Or don't.The first thing I did upon loading up the game was create my character, except I didn't really.I let the Xbox Live Vision camera do it for me.I bought on...

Short game, but not short on fun. 0

Pros Great stylized visuals, sound New Prince and Elika are good characters and they interact in a way that holds interest. Solid platforming action Cons Too short Perhaps too easy After you've got all four powers there seems no point to collecting light seeds except for achievements. The completionist will probably think it reason enough, but it's kind of lame how they suddenly become useless. It doesn't feel so long ago that 2003's Sands of Time was released and offered a fresh take on Prin...

A much improved, very fun sequel - but not flawless. 0

Pros * Visually sound * The ability to walk takes the tedium out of trying to scale a flight of stairs. * Hall of Meat activity's make bailing productive and often fun.Cons * Few songs in the soundtrack really tickle my fancy. * Still kind of think theres too much on one stick. * Some outright dumb choices were made when it came to menus * Walking while useful, is difficult to control. Feels more like you're in a tank then on feet.* I personally don't like having a story driven career mod...

Length aside, I'd say this is one of the best games of this gen 0

ProsEngaging story and atmosphere, with plenty of likable characters. A decent balance between gun play, platforming and puzzle solving. ConsIntroducing monsters in these kinds of games annoy me. It's like. To begin with it's about the treasure and beating dudes to finding the treasure and that's cool. But it feels like most every game or movie with this kind of plot throws in a supernatural element and then BAM! There are crawling, monkey monster things that are trying to rend your flesh from ...

It's not without faults for sure, but it's still an awesome game. 0

ProsVATS makes blowing guys up pretty satisfying. A bunch of interesting side quests. Gets the whole Post Apocalyptic atmosphere down good. A larger voice cast in comparison to the three-four people they had for Oblivon. ConsThe main quest is extremely short and the conclusion is unsatisfying (though future DLC might rectify that) A lot of the humor just fell flat with me. Despite the fact you can get companions you never actually feel like you NEED them, the game seems pretty doable solo. I...

A terrific Co-op experiance. 0

ProsSome of the best Team Based action around. Versus mode is a good way to mix things up when you've played the campaign to bits. It's good at making you jump. ConsOnly four maps which on Normal at least can be done within an hour or so each, so the games "director" aside replayability comes from playing it on harder difficulties, basically. This'll be a short review. The games great. There just isn't a whole lot too it.Theres four survivors you play as.Nervous office worker lookin' guy.Horror ...

It's over the top and entirely rediculous, but thats it's charm. 0

ProsA juvenile sense of humor. This might be a con in your books, but I'm all for some dick and fart jokes. A fully fleshed out co-op experience with LOCAL MULTIPLAYER. Over the top cut scenes with plenty of call backs to the original Saints Row. Over the top action. ConsOccasional glitches, some that can get you stuck inside specific places in the environment. For example I got stuck INSIDE some train tracks. No talk radio is a major downer. Saints Row 2 takes place many years after the or...

Fable 2 is pretty damn fun. 0

ProsSimple, though still quite involving combat that's as fun to play as it is visually impressive. Moral choices that make differences beyond having folk either love you or hate you. Terrific audio and visuals that do a good job of immersing you in this Fairy Tale. Lots of neat little side activities to do. A good amount of humor, both dark and more lighthearted. A good amount of interesting Albion history in it's books and many references to the first game which fans will appreciate. ConsCo-o...

A good enough game that I don't even mind it's set in WW2. 0

ProsPretty intense action that utilizes cover mechanics well. A story less about the war and more about a handful of the people in it, which gives it a more personal touch then some other games provide. More blood and gore then the average war game. Hands achievements out like candy, so if you like seeing your gamer score go up then this is a great game for it. ConsSometimes rather then hide in the position you tell them too the AI members of your squad will stand dumbly in the open, getting sh...

The game could've used a bit more polish, but it's still damn fun 0

ProsDoes a good job of making you feel like a bad ass. Explosions look sweet. Good variety of weapons, vehicles and various explosives to wreak havoc with. ConsGames pretty damn buggy. Some physics issues. Dudes in buildings with rocket launchers. Lack of Local Multiplayer The original Mercenaries was somewhat under appreciated. In the end the same might be applicable to this sequel. While it's got some pretty big issues when it comes down to it, it's incredibly fun and does a great job of makin...

There stuff wrong with it, but not a bad first try I guess. 0

ProsIt plays faster then the competition, if the slower speed of the WWE games bothered you. TNA Wrestlers faithfully recreated. Story is slightly more interesting then you'd expect from a wrestling game. ConsCreate A Wrestler is pretty crap, both in terms of cosmetics and moves you can assign. Not a great diversity in match types. Stupid Tag Team AI. Doesn't appear the Knock Out division is represented. To you that might be a good thing, but to me it just reeks of lack of effort and lets face ...

Some parts are weaker then others, but as a whole Spores awesome. 0

Cell Stage was fun in a Pac-manish sort of way. Creature Stage I liked, though they could've added more activities to do.As it currently plays out you roam the land - attack other creatures and eat said creatures or make friends with said creatures. Occasionally you'll be interuppted and told to migrate which has you moving from one nest to the next.It can last a fairly long time if you want to roam the land and unlock extra parts to put on your creature before you advance to the tribal stage an...

Same Old Song and Dance 0

Pros Neat Aerosmith design on the Guitar Controller. Theres some nice, classic tunes to be played. Video of the band recalling past shows and experiences is good for Aerosmith fans. Cons Theres some tunes that I personally feel ought to be in there that are missing. The games short. It's easier in comparison to previous Guitar Heroes. Like them though I do, I know Aerosmith is not every ones first choice for a Guitar Hero game based on a single band. I finished it not all too long after my ent...

Soul Calibur IV 0

ProsLooks great Solid game play Decent character customization options ConsCharacter customization often forces you to wear lame looking outfits simply because they have better stats then the stuff that actually looks good. Star Wars characters feel totally out of place. Cheesy voice overs, whilst initially amusing will grate on your nerves as you play. I never played the original Soul Calibur.I didn't get to play Soul Calibur 2, which from what I've gathered most people agree to be the best ...

Simple strategy, simple hack and slack, simply fun. 0

Hey look, yet ANOTHER Dynasty Warriors game. But this one's actually somewhat different to the last thousand iterations thanks to somewhat interesting strategy gameplay. The main mode here is the Empires mode, which in the beginning has two sceneario's. One fictional and one historical, with more to be unlocked. The Empires mode contains the hack and slash and constant pressing of the "X" button Dynasty Warriors fans have come to know, love and if they're somewhat sane grow tired with aft...

Not much has improved, but it's still great fun. 0

Is Mortal Kombat: Armageddon a good game? Yes. If you liked MK: Deadly Alliance and MK: Deception, that is. If you didn't, MK:A won't do anything for you. The game play is more or less the same, the addition of aerial combat, while nice - isn't game breaking nor making. The new fatality system I'm sort of on the fence about. On the one hand, I like that it's more interactive. You do more then smash buttons and watch a cut scene. I think wiping your victory in the face of an opponent is all the ...

Fun, comes with the console and shows off what it can do. 0

Wii Sports. What can I say? It's great. And it comes with the Wii. It's a pretty good demonstration of what the Wiimote is capable of. Tennis is a tad simplistic, you merely swing the wiimote when the ball is within range of your Mii. But it's easy enough to ignore this when played with another person. Baseball is probably my favorite game in the package, and contains a decent - if not simplistic representation of the game. The worst part of it is probably the pitching, as it doesnt really matte...

A little clunky, but overall a pretty good game. 0

I haven't seen the movies, so I cannot comment on whether it does the films justice or is faithful to them in anyway. Though this game has inspired me to look into them. The game itself though, is a very fun game in its own right. Sure, it's a GTA clone. But it's a good clone. And in someways better then GTA. Like the extortion system. Throughout the game you'll have to extort various buisnesses for profit. And this is just a blast. The shop keepers are susceptible to different ways of extorti...

Simply fun gameplay makes up for lack of story and direction. 0

Well. It's good. It took time to get used to the fact that you don't grow levels in your skills as fast as you do in the demo, so you shouldn't expect to jump into the game and be leaping tall buildings in a single bound and throwing trucks at people five minutes in. Still, it doesn't take THAT long to level - so before you've even taken out the first kingpin, assuming you don't do it right away - you'll likely have leveled plenty. And thats a good thing too. Though it's advisable to take out...

Definately one of the better Dragonball Z games. 0

It's not the greatest game in the world, but it IS great. It's controls aren't 'clumsy', it does take a little getting used too but it shouldn't be long before your flying all over the battlefield, hurling explosives blasts of energy all over the place. The meat of the game is the story mode and theres a lot to play through, spanning throughout Dragonball Z/GT and also the movies. With a whole host of characters to unlock. Though I doubt it's as much as advertised on the packaging '120', being ...

It's fun while it lasts. 0

Theres not much to say about this game, really. It's nothing especially new or special, but thats not to say it isn't fun - while it lasts anyway. It won't take you too long to plow through. Levels basically consist of running and gunning your way through rooms full of armed foes, looking to kill you right back - they also through in the occasional, simple enviromental puzzle that usually involves shooting an object to remove an obstacle or create a path to proceed. Theres not much substance i...

An extremely solid game with excellent multiplayer. 0

I don't have all that much to say about it. Halo is a great series and I'm loving Halo 3. Is it overrated? Probably. It's not doing too much different then Halo 2 did. But why fix what ain't broke? Theres a noticable graphics improovement in there, as you'd expect. The game looks sharp in pretty much all areas of the game. This won't change the fact that walking through eerily familiar hallways and areas throughout the campaign is a tad bland, no matter how pretty these clone halls look. To be...

A welcome increase in challenge. 0

Just a brief review. Guitar Hero 3 is a fairly by the books sequel in most respects. It's Guitar Hero 2. But more! And more Guitar Hero is never a bad thing. You should know by now whether you like Guitar Hero and whether you want more if it. To talk about the new stuff a bit, I guess most obvious new mode would be the Battlemode, which throws in Mario Kartesque power ups into the standard Guitar Hero game. It's not as great as it sounds. Winning generally comes down to whoever pulls off th...

Decent, if you're wanting your Pokemon battles to be 3D. 0

It kind of saddens me to see some of the bad reviews this game has received, when in reality it's not at all bad. It just seems to me some people expected too much. Why they did I don't know. The main purpose for this style of Pokemon game has always been to bring the Pokemon Battle formula we know and love to a third dimension and it does just that and a fine job of it too. About the only thing this game lacks that other Pokemon Stadium style games had is minigames, but be honest - does the W...

There are some issues, but it's a fun Co-op game nonetheless. 0

So EA's Co-op shooter after some delay has finally came out. Was it worth the wait? Yes and no. It's a good game, of that you can be sure. As a Co-op fanatic, this game is heaven. That it can be played Splitscreen is a plus. Lots of games add online multiplayer nowadays whilst neglecting splitscreen. Some of us want to play with friends in the same room. Some of us aren't willing to purchase an extra 360 and two of every game we want to play to accomplish this goal. So yeah, splitscreens a welc...

Fun if you can get by it's shortness and some technical issues. 0

Pros * Hand to hand combat is fun, nice to look at. * Follows the movies well and adds some from the books too. * Cool cinematics, good use of quick time events. Cons * As the game follows the movies somewhat, having Bourne not be Matt Damon is kind of off putting. * Vehicle sections feel like you're driving on ice. * Whilst improved from the demo, the shooting sections are still pretty weak. * Had a bug a couple of times that froze the game. The hand-to-han...

A celebration of all things Nintendo and a fun game too boot. 0

Pros * A good variety of characters. Both well known faces and obscure, all of which are fun to play. * Numerous levels and a decently robust level creator to boot. * Tonnes of unlockables. * Attractive graphics. * Excellent soundtrack. Cons * Short story mode. * Perhaps TOO much to unlock? Super Smash Brothers Brawl finally came out at the end of the last month down under and I've had plenty of time with it. Theres not a whole lot I can say that you haven't lik...

Grand Theft Auto 4 is a must play. 0

Pros * Graphically and aurally outstanding. * Engaging story and characters that you'll actually care about. * Improved combat and driving. * Still as funny as ever. * Terrific multiplayer. Cons * More radio stations, but what feels like less music in them. * Customization buffs will feel disapointed given the decrease in options from San Andreas to GTA 4. * Minigames (Drinking, Darts etc) aren't available in multiplayer freeroam. * No System Link It's be...
