4th Annual GBAD AOTY Poll Results: Escaped Limbo Just To Get Punched In The Face

Introduction

Welcome one and all, Giant Bomb Anime Duders/Dudettes (collectively known as GBAD, or at least that's what our Steam group says) to the big thing where I post the results of the anime poll as voted on by you, the Giant Bomb community, or at least those who chose to respond to it. The initial OP will be a bit shorter as I wanted to get the main part out first. The results of the bonus questions will be appended later, but I wanted to write this up now or I would have kept putting it off forever. Also, my body decided to pick every week since Thanksgiving to be afflicted with some sort of malady: from gastroenteritis, to completing a final paper for a Masters-level class while recovering, then right into sinusitis, to flu or flu-like symptoms, and later bruised hands and a painful reminder of why I should probably invest in some handwraps before sparring with other people. On the bright side, it did give me more time to catch up on the anime I missed, some of which are even on this list!

Before we get started, just wanted to offer a few shoutouts to my homies in the Anime Megathread, which should be getting a new one very soon, or so the regulars keep nagging me. The new OP will be smaller and easier to peruse likely because half the links are be dead so look forward to that. We also have a Steam group, though it is mostly quiet, but with the newer anime-fightan games being ported to PC, hopefully there will be some life. Hopefully.

On to the poll itself: We had about 60 voters, minus a couple of troll votes, a small increase from last year. Votes were tallied first by weighted tally (1st place gets 5 votes, 2nd place gets 4, 3rd gets 3, 4th gets 2, 5th gets 1). Then they would be ranked by simple unweighted vote to serve as tiebreaker. If they were still tied after that, then congrats, they take the same spot. As you might notice in the final tally, this means that some shows might've gotten shuffled around if the tiebreaker was reversed. Having said that, I decided to stick with my previous rules.

10) Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works

Yet another retelling of that classic story about a boy and his kingly servant fighting for the Holy Grail. Feels like this franchise has been around forever, spawning around 100 different games, anime, manga, body pillow slipcovers, t-shirts, lunchboxes, flamethrowers, and that's before we get into the Type-Moon spinoffs. Honestly, what can I say about this story that hasn't already been said? Check it out.

9) Food Wars: Shokugeki no Soma

A tale that really puts the food in "food porn." It's your standard battle manga where teenagers from Japan gather in one spot to fight each other for dominance, the snooty elites look down their nose at the up-and-comers while they train, and there's even more than one Tournament Arc, except their battlefield is the kitchen! If you like watching Chopped but thought it could use more dudes with burning spirit and people orgasming (somewhat literally) over every bite, then this is for you!

"[...]I would argue that Food Wars is the most intense action anime of the year, incorporating mouth watering animation and outlandish humor that slowly grows on you. By the end of this anime I was laughing at every taste reaction and getting hungry at the sight of every dish."--@hunter456285

7) [TIED!] Shirobako & Working!!!

Any slightly well-adjusted member of society has worked a shit job to help put things in perspective, especially when that job involves food service. So it figures that two shows about working in The Biz (though with very different perspectives) would make this list.

Working!!! is season 3 of a weird comedy of a dude who works at a restaurant, though this is less about the work than about the staff interacting with each other, and the kinda creepy dude who is the main character by default yet has all the girls fawning over him. Apparently people really like this show due to the interactions between the characters and the way the voice actors sell their lines. What makes this season better than the others? Well, according to one duder...

"Working!!! offered one of the best conclusions to a series that anime so rarely gets. Romances happen, conflicts are resolved, and most important of all you walk away from it feeling good about the whole thing."--@chainreaction01

Shirobako, on the other hand, is a fictional look at The Biz of making anime. Unlike the aforementioned two shows on this list, you won't find any tournament arcs, random punching of dudes who don't deserve it, or ladies carrying around a katana just because. It's an interesting (if idealized) look at what it takes to produce an entire anime series and the metaphorical shit the crew has to swim through to make their combined dream into reality.

"Shirobako is my anime of the year, because it's the most emotionally affecting series I watched this year. It's a fascinating (albeit somewhat idealized) look into the animation industry while also using that specific experience to comment on the difficulties of adulthood and finding one's place in the world."--@shinmaru007

6) My Love Story!! ("Ore Monogatari!!")

You've probably seen this story before, anime or not: ugly but good-hearted dude has a crush on this girl, but he has to compete for her heart with a handsome guy. The adventures of Takeo Gōda, an Ordinary High-School Student trying to go out with a girl from high-school, while getting past his classmates, friends, and his own insecurities. This one was surprisingly charming and hilarious, based off a manga that won the prestigious Taishou Award and even spawned a live-action movie.

"My Love Story is the cutest." --@hamst3r

HALFTIME!

On a solemn note, the world said goodbye Miyu Matsuki this year. She suffered from an acute case of pneumonia and passed away at the relatively young age of 38. She was known for her roles across several big franchises, including Hayate the Combat Butler and Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei. On the other hand, her last big anime work was in this show (slightly NSFW). Like Bernie Mac's last movie was the mediocre comedy Soul Men, and Raul Julia's last work was the awful Street Fighter movie, Matsuki's untimely passing reminds us that we may not get the chance to pick and choose when we go, and perhaps that we shouldn't be worried about our last mark defining us after we're gone, but what we did before then to make the life we had worthwhile.

Okay, enough seriousness and contemplation, let's wrap this shit up with the Top Five.

5) Yuri Kuma Arashi

I honestly don't know how to summarize this show, except to say it's from the very creative mind that brought you Revolutionary Girl Utena. Let's see...imagine there was a world with nothing but lesbians in it, okay? But half of the lesbians are cartoony bears. And the bears and the not-bear lesbians have this wall separating them and have sort of been at war with one another. But there's also a bear-court where occasionally some not-lesbian bears decide whether or not a bear's love for a human is a one-night stand or a "til death do us part" thing. And there's symbolism with bear-girls who lick honey off of lily petals. Actually, the whole show is chock-full of SYMBOLISM!

Whatever you think of this show, it did give us this dramatic sting.

"Super stylish and super interesting throughout. Even if it doesn't reach the highs [of] Utena I think it's one of the most interesting things I watched." --@jesushammer

4) JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders - Egypt Arc

JoJo and the Mystery Machine Gang take their Stands to Egypt this year! A cast of characters including a muscular Sean Connery, Benimaru from the King of Fighters, and a small ugly dog take the Mystery Machine on another adventure to find Ronnie James Dio before he turns Old Man Jenkins into a vampire. I'm pretty sure David Production's going to ride this franchise as far as they can go, and the JoJo Bros will be with them every step of the way.

"This season of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure features a death match between a smug bird of prey and a Boston Terrier." --@jesna
"A show that is formulaic in its set piece conflicts, but tremendous in its execution. Combine it with a cast of characters whose color can give Final Fantasy 6 a run for its money, and you have a hell of a show." --@turambar

3) Sound! ("Hibike!") Euphonium

A dramatic show about what happened this one time at band practice, as two girls and their teacher/conductor have to unite to help their school's ensemble reach the Nationals. If you liked K-ON! and thought it could use less comedy and more slice-of-life drama with awkward and frustrated teenagers trying to work through their issues while growing up, you've come to the right place. I mean that in the best way.

"Sound! Euphonium is high on my list because it is one of the VERY few shows I have ever related to on such a profoundly personal level. Namely, I was not only in the band in high school, but I was also in the low brass section. There were a lot of little things in this show that just worked for me for very specific reasons, and I love it for it. It also didn't go out of it's way to ever make fun of band people, and that's super cool." --@epidehl

2) Death Parade

Just barely edging out the #3 choice by one weighted vote, comes Death Parade. What lies beyond life and death? We may not know, but at least for those stuck in Limbo there's a swanky bar where you can throw back a White Russian and ruminate on life, at least until it comes time for a sort of Death Game to happen, and you'll be judged worthy of either heaven or hell. There is a story thread running through the show, but they all come back to the basic premise of redemption or damnation, and who's watching the ones who are passing judgment on us?

It might be difficult to see after that opening ditty, but please, take my word for it. This show is deeper than you'd think.

"Was it perfect? Hardly. Did I like every episode? Nah. But man, if this show wasn't trying harder than so many others to grapple with some heavier material. I've watched my share of Key dramas, cried my manly JoJo tears, but I have to applaud what this show was trying to do with themes of grief and acceptance and judgment, even if it sometimes felt a little canned or overwrought." --@peregrin38

"Death Parade is an unique look at life and regret that has wonderful characters and creativity. It's stories spoke to me in ways most other Anime's don't." --@makayu

Now here it is, the one you've all been waiting for...

Number One in My Heart: Ninja Slayer From Animation

Have you wanted a show that combined the ultra-violence of 80s anime, the animation of Aqua Teen Hunger Force, and various kinds of cyberpunk ninja that take themselves seriously when the viewer probably does not? Well you're in luck! Studio Trigger, the minds behind the groundbreaking youtube anime Inferno Cop, have taken the brilliant series of short stories about a sarariman who decides to avenge his slain family by becoming a ninja that kills all ninjas, Ninja Slayer.

I mean, just look at this beautiful animation!

No wonder this anime won the coveted spot of... uh, wait a minute, there's some space dust on the letter, give me a minute and watch this classic animated clip...

...my apologies, here's the real winner:

1) One-Punch Man

Much like Saitama does to every bad guy he meets, this show blew a giant hole in the stomach of every other show on the list. Very simple premise of a rather plain, boring superhero in a world where associations of superheroes and supervillains constantly fight one-another with flashy special moves and dramatic monologues like any good old-fashioned cartoon character.

So what makes this different? The way they show it, and the heroes who aren't as invincible as Saitama yet still do what they can to fight against the evil that besiges the land every day. The best part? The animation, the care and detail put into nearly every fight scene. Though it may not match the great Murata's manga art, it's about as close as we're going to get with the time and budget that One-Punch Man had.

I'm sure more of this anime will be made in the near future, and the creators themselves mentioned that they would do what it took to have more episodes made. The only question will be if it can keep up this pace, or as our very own anime maso-mod ZombiePie predicted, if the story fades away into mediocrity following Saitama's last fight in this show.

One Punch Man has sort of become the new Dragon Ball Z; the transcendental anime. Everyone, even those not into anime, seems to be talking about it, and for good reason. The animation is astounding, the humor is top notch and amazingly survives the cultural boundary, and pacing is excellent from start to finish. There's no contesting this is the best anime of the year. --@soldierg654342

One-Punch Man might literally be the most perfect show (for me). Over the top action? Check. Heart? Check. Good comedy? Check. A bitchin' theme song? Check? Incredible animation? SUPER CHECK. --@epidehl

"I haven't watched Anime in years, but I watched one punch man several different times with a bunch of different people who don't care about Anime. It's a bad ass show that has goofy moments when it is taking itself too seriously." --@fink

Thank you all for tuning in to this award show. The bonus questions will be shortly appended to the end of this post, but I wanted to get the meat of this stuff out of the way before I crashed.

As always, suggestions/comments/praise about the perfectness of myself and this poll can be posted below.

I thought Parasyte came out in 2014? Please tell me it did and it's not on the list because you guys had seen it already. That show's great.

I need to watch One Punch Man, I guess, but I'm still watching Iron Blooded Orphans.

Oh my God, it's a top-10 list of anime comprised of 1) shows that I watched and 2) shows that I LIKED having watched. I don't think this has happened before. I... I have gained so much faith in this forum's anime tastes ;___;

Thanks, @dochaus, for all your work putting this together~!

@believer258 Parasyte finished in 2015, but it was a 2014 show in my heart. The same with JoJo. Very good shows, but I felt they already had their year.

The only shows I didn't see that made it in the top 10 are Shirobaka and Working!!! I saw everything else and enjoyed them to varying degrees. My only disappointment is not seeing GATE and Hestia Dungeon in the top 10. A true tragedy since I'm guessing my Waifu pick won't win either.

My disappointment in the fact Death Parade ranked so high is balanced out by my joy that none of you voted for Rokka no Yuusha. Shame on you all, but good job.

Genuinely surprised Working!!! ranked at all. I loved it, but I felt like I was the only one. Apparently, I was wrong.

Did Takeo have to compete with a handsome guy for Yamato's affections? A big part of what I liked about Ore Monogatari was that it felt like a subversion of that whole concept. The two were head-over-heels for one-another from the start, and are going out within the first couple of episodes.

And the dude who you'd think would be the handsome competition in a standard shojo is actually, like, the ultimate bro/best friend to Takeo, and neither he nor Yamato ever show even the vaguest hint of interest in one-another.

Great list, anyways. I haven't watched nearly enough this season.

...fuck. I seriously forgot it was still airing last year. I almost put it on my five, but forgot. Regardless, I agree. That show was a real binger for me.

I'm going to call 2015 a letdown as both Fate/Stay Night and Jojo were letdowns for me, but Iron Blooded Orphans is pretty rad so I guess we'll say it came out even?

2016's got a Macross in it, so that's something to look forward to at least.

Happy two see two of my "I wasn't sure how popular it actually was, but it really worked for me" shows on the list (Sound! Euphonium and Death Parade).

Sad to see I'm literally the only person that voted for Rolling Girls, and YO NINJA SLAYER IS AMAZING AND EVERYONE SHOULD WATCH IT.

Oh shit I totally forgot to put Shirobako on my list I think. I am glad Yuri! Euphonium is up there, really loved that show. The fact that School Live! didn't even crack the top 10 is a real travesty, that show is amazing and you all need to watch it.

@daveyo520: I was a little confused about the validity of having Shirobako on my list, since half of it came out in 2014 I believe. I probably would have put it number one now that I think about it.

School-Live! was wayyyyy better than I though it was going to be. It's legit great. It barely got left out of my top five but I had a really hard time picking just five shows for my list. Last year was a really strong year for anime in my opinion, especially when accounting for all the dreck so far in this season.

Does One Punch Man get better? I'm 5 episodes in and I'm fairly disappointed. I came in expecting the show to be a meta-commentary on the ridiculousness of anime. Like the obsession with constantly introducing bigger and stronger villains for the protagonists to defeat (after getting bigger and stronger himself), which ultimately renders all fights devoid of any stakes since we know who's going to eventually win, or the dragging out of said fights throughout multiple episodes.

The premise is actually quite genius: look, we all know that the good guy is going to win, so let's stop pretending and make it an official rule of the world itself. The first episode was quite enjoyable and felt fresh. Then it all started to go downhill from there.

"Remember that part about scaling down the length of fights that we know the eventual outcome of? Yeah, scratch that, we're just gonna have Saitama come in later in the fight and have some other good guy fight against the bad guy. Or just let the baddie jump around and yell before Saitama reacts. I mean, we can't actually take our premise seriously because we wouldn't have all those cool fights!"

The worst part is the total lack of a story and character development. After 5 episodes I still don't know why from a narrative perspective I should care about who Saitama defeats this week. The episodes feel disconnected and more like filler. Saitama's and Genos' characters don't evolve or change at all; there is no arc or even hint at development.

Yes, the animations are awesome (and consistent, which I love) and the humor is pretty good too. That however doesn't make up for the narrative drawbacks and a waste of a pretty amazing premise.

Someone had Charlotte as their #1 show of the year? That's . . . . . . . . surprising.

I was thinking Haikyuu!! would make it but it's still a sports anime, even if it's one of the best. I seem to have different tastes than the rest of the voters since I only had interest in/watched 3 of the shows that made the top 10.

@imsh_pl: I personally ended up liking the support cast in the show far more than Saitama and honestly prefer watching what the S-rank's and other members of the association do and how they fight. Setting up Saitama as invincible kind of lets them throw the rest of the cast into ridiculous fights and makes their heroic efforts seem far more impactful than they otherwise would be.

@imsh_pl: If that's how you feel about it after five episodes, then nope, it's not going to get better for you. I'm mostly in the same boat as you -- I think OPM is fine, and a lot of fun at times, but my fondness for it doesn't burn with the same fervor as many other people. Different strokes.

At least I helped Shirobako get as high on the list as possible.

Color me shocked that Death Parade took the number 2 spot. I thought the show was good but nothing to write home about for anything but the styyyyyyle. I was really pulling for My Love Story! Since that show clicked with me so well, someone who doesn't like (perhaps I should say 'is sick of') rom coms especially of the high school variety, then it deserves some recognition. I'm not surprised Haikyuu!!'s 2nd season didn't crack the top ten but I still love that show enough to have had it in my top five. Even as someone who has been following and praising Gintama for as long as I have I couldn't bring myself to cast a vote for it due to a number of technicalities. Regardless the season that started last year has continued to make that series one of my all time favorite pieces of entertainment.

One-Punch Man was definitely the best in class when it came to a pure viewing experience for me last year. I'd love to get into detail on why that cartoon deserves the praise it gets but it just feels overwrought at this point. The goal of the show is to make you laugh and maybe think about comic book culture as a concept. On that I feel it succeeds, so as long as you're coming into it to have a good time there's enjoyment to be had from start to finish.

@mezmero: For some of us, styyyyyyle is 90+% of why we watch anime. Death Parade got points for me just for trying something different. It's also worth noting that it was based on a short film rather than a full manga (like OPM and many others), making it somewhat of a rarity. I'd agree with everyone that it didn't necessarily "succeed" at what it was trying to do, but man if it didn't try to do some pretty crazy stuff for an anime series.

I mean, for me, style is almost everything, so I ended up voting for Blood Blockade Battlefront as top pick, hooray unpopular opinions!

Pleasantly shocked that Death Parade ranked so high, the 2 parter with the detective was probably my favorite short arc of the entire year outside of the first Darby fight in Jojo. As someone who is watching it now and absolutely loving it, I'm extremely bummed that Lupin III didn't make it on here.

Overall though, for the most part not surprised by a lot of this list. Even though it didn't break my top 5, no problems with One Punch Man winning. That show is fun, more shows should be fun.

I love describing Jojo's to people, because when you break it down into its base components it is complete lunacy. Oh, what happens in part 2? Giant naked men made out of rock fight a New Yorker with a broken Newton's pendulum and special breathing powers. Also, one of the main protagonists is a Nazi cyborg!

Lots of people think that part 3 drags pretty hard in the middle, you're not alone. In part 4 Araki starts making stand powers more esoteric, so you should give it a shot when it comes out this spring.

I mean, for me, style is almost everything, so I ended up voting for Blood Blockade Battlefront as top pick, hooray unpopular opinions!

Man, I would've loved to have put BBB in mine, but reading the manga along with it killed the anime for me. The music, the animation, the acting (in the dub for me) were all top notch. But, Black and White (who were not in the manga) were awful and messed with what made the manga so good in really crappy ways.

Knew One-Punch Man would be #1 in the results. I didn't expect to see Shirobako or Working either. I thought either Your Lie in April or Parasyte be in the lower half. When you have Fall 2014 shows ending in 2015. People would either forget those shows or those shows will get drown by other competitors. For most shows, it's probably in their advantage to aired near half of the year and end before the year. I assume Shirobako had a better lasting appeal than Parasyte Maxim due to how Parasyte ended.

Great blog, DocHaus!

Man I always hate seeing shows from the previous year in top 10s. I always feels like it doesn't allow shows that actually started this year their chance to shine. Oh well. I still feel One Punch Man gets way too much hype and credit, but I guess that's what happens when you get a real bad fanbase surrounding a thing.

I haven't watched most of these, but I did enjoy the ones that I saw. The winner was obvious, especially in the context of a vote. OPM has such a broad appeal, deservedly so I think. It's a cool show and I had it pretty high on my list.

Same here. I wasn't reading along, but while I like Black and White as individuals, I thought that story was weak. Waiting several extra months for the conclusion wasn't worth it. So while I liked the show a lot, that pushed it below the others on my personal list.

@epidehl@redhotchilimist Yeah, the story was very much the weakest part of it for me as well - but I'm somewhat notorious with my anime friends for being that guy that doesn't care about story compared to just about everything else. I'm not at all surprised that it didn't make the cut.

But hot damn, the music and art direction. Hot damn. Easily ahead of OPM for me.

@oursin_360: Nah, Jojo was totally better with Hamon. Stands and the monster-of-the-week format were a downgrade to the series.

I've never read something so wrong in my life. No one cares about The Ripple, not even Araki, the creator. Stands are what brought the series into the limelight and let it become the influential and popular series it is. Without them it would have probably drifted into obscurity.

All ya'll peons asking for a second season of One Punch Man better be prepared to wait like six years for it to come out. Then once it actually gets released you had better be prepared to be disappointed.

Also the lack of School Live on this list is downright criminal.

I tried a lot of stuff in the top ten but didn't really like any of it apart from One Punch Man.

Also no-one else voted for Osomatsu-san? Fucking for real? or am I not reading it right?

@cirdain: I wouldn't be so sure. Some of us are severely off-put by moeblob. I mean, severely. I couldn't make it past two episodes based solely on the voice acting, let alone the zombie setting. I can see the appeal, but it makes sense to me that it wouldn't have the broad appeal that something like OPM clearly had.

@ninnanuam - I'd agree that this is surprising, given that it was a popular show. I know that it tended to do much better with female viewers than male... maybe it's a side-effect of Giant Bomb demography? I wonder what the gender ratio on this site is in the first place...

Hey, I didn't forget the bonus questions! I was just busy. Really busy. Finally got around to compiling them here, so read on.

Favorite non-Japanese cartoon of 2015?

About half of those who took the survey answered the question, minus handful of answers and a Certain Duder named ZombiePie who answered "Homer Simpson Does Dallas." The most popular choice, from about 1/3 of those who chose to answer the question, was Rick and Morty. It is a great cartoon, and it is to my shame that I have not been able to watch the second season yet aside from a handful of clips. Stephen Universe came in second, or third if you count the amount of people who chose to answer "no" or some variant thereof.

  • Aqua Teen Hunger Force
  • Archer
  • Avengers: Age of Ultron. It was like 90% CG...
  • Gravity Falls
  • Gravity Falls
  • Homer Simpson Does Dallas
  • I don't watch western animated shows. I do watch some live action stuff so I'm not a total weirdo.
  • Inside Out
  • Just Cause 3
  • Les Shadoks
  • Regular Show probably?
  • Rick & Morty

  • RWBY

  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
  • Transformers

Favorite Kind of Ramen?

After finding a place within driving distance that serves the non-instant kind of ramen last year, I figured I would ask that question to the voting audience, but left it purposefully open-ended to see what kind of crazy answers I could get. 38 people responded to the answer, and quite a few of them boil down to "whatever kind I can eat" or "I don't eat ramen." Still, it was interesting to find a handful of people answering with Tonkotsu, Miso, and shoyu.

  • All ramen
  • BEEF
  • chashu
  • Cheap
  • Chicken flavor
  • Chicken with Miso base (ramen is Aus is probs weird)
  • Hide-Chan Deluxe Ramen
  • I eat a lot of beef instant noodles
  • idk the spicy chicken stuff that the grocery in my city has. i buy it in bulk
  • Kagoshima style Tonkonstu-Shoyu
  • Maruchan
  • Miso
  • Miso ramen
  • Normal Ramen
  • Okinawan Fugu (Non-Venom Brand)
  • Rayman is kinda cool I geuss
  • Shoyu
  • Shoyu all day!
  • Shoyu ramen with chicken, ham, and a soft-boiled egg.
  • spicy
  • Spicy Miso
  • Tempura
  • The good kind?
  • The kind that tastes like meat
  • The kind you eat
  • Tonkatsu
  • Tonkotsu
  • Tonkotsu
  • uh cup ramen?
  • vegetarian
  • Whatever comes out of my own kitchen.
  • Yakibuta

Any interest in GBAD doing extra things (i.e. podcasting, game streaming)?

As you might have noticed from the OP of the Anime Megathread, we have a Steam group that barely anyone uses, and we have regulars in the forum who have considered doing some sort of podcast thing. I myself did an anime podcast with a few other users back when Anime Vice was a thing, managed to keep it going for about a year before we went our seperate ways. Those who did answer this one affirmatively liked the idea of a podcast, but a large chunk went "eh, whatever," even overlapping those who warmed to the podcast idea. Guess that's what I get for just throwing this question in there without any context. Good to hear that there is some support for an animu podcast, but still kinda tepid as to whether we would do one.

Oh, and ZombiePie, you might want to be careful what you wish for with this crowd. Just sayin.

  • A podcast would be cool
  • A podcast/ article with opinions about not only current but past anime to facilitate more discussions would be pretty neat.
  • American shows that are like anime.
  • Group anime watching?
  • Hardcore pornography.
  • I always need more podcasts
  • I would be interested in a podcast. Maybe it is because I am out of touch, but I don't really feel like I can connect with the anime megathread, since whenever I go there people are talking about shows I haven't heard of/seen. Some extra motivation to use my Crunchyroll, Hulu, and Netflix accounts to unleash UN-LIMITED ANIME could be cool.
  • If it's any good.
  • Indifferent
  • Maybe podcasting
  • More content is never a bad thing.
  • nah
  • Nope.
  • not really.
  • Not sure
  • podcast could be neat.
  • Podcasting/Game streaming sound super cool and are something I could be capable of/willing to do.
  • Podcasts are always cool.
  • Podcasts are cool
  • Sorry I'm unlikely to follow it. Just on time/priorities
  • Sure
  • Sure, bring it on.
  • who?
  • "Would love to hear a podcast discussing the recent animes of the season and opinions on it, maybe not weekly, monthly perhaps - getting few different guest people on to discuss what they think is good/bad.
  • Also going back through a getting discussion on classics, and niche animes people may have missed."
  • Yeah sure I'd be into doing things maybe.
  • Yeah.
  • Yes. Do it all.
  • You guys do stuff? Ask ZombiePie, he'll hook you up. Ask him about Kill la Kill also.

Your Waifu/Huzbando is ____

...you know what? I'll just post the results here:

  • Aoi Miyamori of Shirobako
  • Asuna
  • Can I just pick Felicia again?
  • Chie Satonaka
  • Chie Satonaka!
  • DIO
  • Ebisu Kofuku
  • Eli - Love live
  • everyone involved in posing this question should feel ashamed of themselves. juri arisugawa
  • From this year it'd be Hazuki Katou but I'm not really into the idea of a waifu unless its a "This is a character you enjoy". Harmless if you are really into this idea but I just don't get it.
  • Fubuki made a cameo in One Punch Man so she counts!
  • Fuck you
  • Gokou Ruri
  • GOUDA TAKEO
  • Hana Midorikawa
  • Haurchefant of the Silver Fuller
  • Himeko Inaba
  • Honoka Kousaka
  • Huh? Is that some sorta waffle?

  • Kaname Chidori for life
  • Kaori T.T
  • Kiryuin Satsuki
  • Mako from kill la kill
  • Megumi Tadokoro/Genos
  • Misaka Mikoto ftw always
  • Nakoruru
  • Pandemonium-san
  • Sakurako-san
  • Sayaka Miki
  • SHIT!!!
  • Shoemaker-senpai
  • Stella Vermillion
  • Tadokoro Megumi
  • Taiga
  • Takane Shijou
  • The guy from Infinite Stratos
  • Tuxedo Mask
  • Utaha Kasumigaoka
  • Utena
  • Yui Yuigahama
  • Yui Yuigahama

Final Comments on the poll itself?

Very few responses for this one aside from how awesome and perfect it is. Though a couple asked for a Worst Anime block in next year's poll if I do this again. I'll take it under consideration, but in my opinion it just seems too easy to vote for whatever gross shit came out in the year that we prefer to stay buried under the actual Good Anime.

That's it, I'm done. Enjoy your Monday and look forward to 2016!

Also I totally have 3 episodes of a podcast that I was on for a bit that exist. I love talking about old and new anime when I get the chance. Also it is mostly me talking about idol shows.
