Both are great, I like Beastcast slightly more. I'd love it if we could swap people regularly between them but I realize that's insane. I just love it when East and West mix.
I discovered this when I got a TV with fire stick installed, went to download a youtube app, and discovered there was no official one because Amazon refused to play nice with everyone else.
It felt so backwards in 2019, glad they figured things out.
WoW has some of my favorite gaming memories associated with it, specifically Vanilla - Wrath. There is some curiosity there, but I feel like a lot of the fun from the game came from the friends I made along the way (I can't believe I said that unironically). I'm never going to find Beeps the Mage or Canaan the Warlock or Pencil the Shaman again. It's not going to be the same, and I feel like I'd just be chasing a hit of nostalgia.
Nice write up, especially the spoilered portion. It's nice to see RGG Studios try some new things in this, even if it's still a Yakuza game at its core. I could do without the tailing though, that got old pretty quick.
I don't know if this is true, but I heard the lack of karaoke comes from the fact the Japanese actor for Yagami is an actual singer in Japan as well, and recording tracks with him would have cost too much money.
However, a lot of people go out of their way to downplay the good Xbox first-party games. The Play Anywhere stuff, which is great for everyone and broke platform barriers to be one of the most consumer-friendly developments in gaming, is used against MS on the technicality that it means Xbox games aren't console exclusives, which is fucking weak. It's backwards, as if closed platforms should be celebrated instead. If you want to play Xbox games on PC, you can. By all means, enjoy that ability to play some games that wouldn't exist without Xbox on your PC. And if that means you don't have to buy an Xbox, awesome for you. Just don't spout off that this is somehow proof that Xbox as a platform is trash. Some people have zero interest in PC gaming. Some people love PC gaming. Microsoft has provided the ability this generation for both to be happy, and to even play together if they want to.
Most of my favorite games are associated with memories. Playing Bomberman for hours with my friends, becoming stupid good as a team at Halo, not telling them about hitting the stick to get out of pins in No Mercy and earning the nickname 'Chief Cheat'. (It's not a cheat, it's in the instruction manual!) Those memories are more important to me than graphics and gameplay and the like.
My Grandmother, from what my Mother has told me, was the worst person on the planet. I never knew my grandfather, and she always told me he was a great guy, doing anything he could to help people. But she was a witch and a half. Never cared for her daughter or wanted her, treated her like garbage, told her she was shit to her face. The one she always reiterated to me was how she wasn't allowed to have new clothes, especially as a teenager. Both of them were around the same size, so when she did get new clothes one year from her dad, her mom took them all the next day and wore them instead.
Oh, and my Grandmother had a baby she killed buried somewhere in our yard.
