there are smarter ways to spend marketing dollars for a game than trying to buy review scores, i would imagine.

a common complaint about Wing is that in previous series, the Gundams were just very good mechs, but in Wing they became like mythic superpowerful murder machines that can carve through hundreds of enemy suits with little to no resistance. it made a lot of the battles feel like there were no real stakes.

Fallout 4. i pre ordered it because there is no way i wasnt gonna buy it.

usually when i pre-order a game, its for money reasons as opposed to because of the pre-order incentives. for example, i get paid bi-weekly so if a game comes out in a week i dont get payed i might pre-order it the week before so i can pay it off when i know i have the spending cash to spare. that way i can walk into the gamestop and just pick it up, without having to check my bank account and do the mental math to see if i can afford it or if i need to wait.

back before i had a job i would pre-order games and sort of use it like layaway. i could put the 5 dollars down to reserve it at gamestop, and then periodically go in and add more money to the pre-order so that hopefully by launch day i will have fully paid it off.

I get that people hate pre-orders and pre-order incentives and pre-order-driven ad campaigns, but if you look past all the negative press, a pre-order can in a lot of ways be a very useful service for some consumers.

yeah, it sucks that they basically hold most of your resources hostage, but on the other hand, im at 53% completion, 90 hours played and i havent been invaded at all. id be curious if this is unusual.

i wonder if it kind of keeps you out of other peoples invade menu until you actually do your first invasion or something. because ive never done a single invasion myself, and ive been thinking that maybe that is the case.

i prefer to watch or play stuff in the language it was created in, so if they are French games, or games that take place in France, then i would totally prefer to play with French VO and English subtitles.

@devil240z: yeah, but they show up in a lot of games for whatever reason. its a fine substitute, since ill probably never see one in real life, let alone get to drive one.

i really like the weird Hako/datsun 510/Peugeot hybrid they put into GTA Online.

i wonder if that Tokyo Xtreme Racer game that came out on 360 will ever work with the xbox one backwards compatibility. had a lot of fun with that one.

Its a shame you've never found a Maximum Tune machine. the few times a year i make the trek to the arcade that has it, ill spend like 20 bucks on that machine alone. its very fun, it has like a 100 race story mode, which is just races like youd expect, but with all the Wangan characters having conversations in word baloons (which i never can read, since i need to watch the road)

my favorite part though is that the machines have a 6 speed gearbox on them which is just much more fun to use than the sequential shifter you would find on an Initial D machine.

So you're saying that, for example, I could read some Planetside 2 patch notes, and by so doing I could allow a spirit into my computer? and that spirit would then go on to haunt this copy of Tiny and Big: Grandpa's Leftovers I have on here?

Sounds plausible, I guess.

played it at a friends house earlier tonight, here are some thoughts

  • The way it has to do a full load whenever you want to check out something in Create-a-Wrestler is excruciating.
  • They added some fun moves. Shinsuke Nakamura's Boma Ye has its full animation now, theres a new Styles Clash, a couple new superkick animations. stuff like that.
  • I don't understand the new Submission minigame. Which color is which player?
  • The actual wrestling feels pretty much exactly like last year. i never noticed the limited reversals thing in a match, i feel like i reversed the same amount as i usually do.
  • Still no weapon taunts? or top rope taunts? why not?
