I'm in this in-between phase of "give it some time" and "I'm eager to know what's next" both for Giant Bomb and for the former staffers. And I can't go and watch old stuff right now, it feels too much like wallowing in the past. I'm just kinda stuck in neutral as far as my GB feelings are concerned. Not like, I don't care or something but more like I don't have a feeling and I have all the feelings. *sigh*
This is going to sound fucking lame but after watching this I had a dream that I was able to convince these guys not to leave. And I woke up crying lol... It feels silly to say it now, but that happened. Of course I want them to do what's best. If they gotta go, they gotta go. And it's mostly not my business. But yep. I felt this pretty hard.
@stise I'd say that's totally ok to borrow or lift whole concepts. Writers do it all the time, and we'd see more of it in media today if copyright law wasn't absolutely insane. It's a dying form of story telling that in today's view is looked at as theft, laziness, or amateur. That's certainly what a company like Disney would want us to feel.

Vinny is a mad genius, but big props (as always) to Alex for running that stunt all the way to home base. It's honestly one of his greatest skills as a performer, and it's not easy. No one rounds out a bit like Navarro.
I worked retail for many years, I can in all likelihood confirm that the dumpster of cliff bars was there because they were near expiration, and not expired or in any way dangerous (and let's be real, expiration dates on a cliff bar are probably an arbitrary date to help rotate stock and keep wholesale demand fluctuations at more predictable levels, it's part of the wonderful world of corporate waste). Some states, like mine, have laws that certain products cannot be sold within a time frame of their listed expiration. This makes sense for milk and some baby food products, but it also includes most processed food items that probably only start to get stale sometime after the expiration date. Some stores, like mine at one point, would actually dump bleach on the discarded product to discourage diving. Not because they were afraid of people being hurt entering a dumpster, but because they didn't want people waiting for free product...
In my time, I've dumped literal truckloads of edible food in the garbage. Not proud of it. And that was just one employee at one store.
I will add to the rest of the comments, the graphics are intentionally low-polygonal-looking to evoke a PS1 texture feeling. It's intentionally combined with modern lighting effects to make a similar feeling to that "HD 2D" stuff from Octopath, and I absolutely love what they're doing in this game.
I love how GB's premium content is increasingly being distinguished by content that can't be uploaded elsewhere without being ID'd by copyright holders.
