I'm ashamed to say I totally didn't even catch that Patrick ribbing on the first reading. I didn't click the link and kind of figured he was serious. I mean, I could absolutely see a junior high kid playing hooky to try to beat Dan's levels. Absolutely hilarious.
@mike: Thank you for talking some sense into me. I was right on the verge of hopping into Steam and impulse buying this thing but everything you said hits home with me. I have absolutely no business paying 60 bucks for this game when I have the kind of backlog I do. I haven't even touched MGS5 yet, FFS. This game seems like it will benefit from some patching time anyway, and will likely be an even better experience when I catch up with it later in a sale.
