This is just the beginning. I get why EA is doing this but ultimately I think trying to cut out the used game business is unwise. I get that they don't get any money from used sales but a lot of trade ins are used in order to pay for new games. I definitely wouldn't buy as many games if I could get some money of them buy trading in my old games. Also is a game really worth full asking price in most cases? I'm usually happy to buy a game knowing that I can get a portion of that money back by trading it in even if its not that long. If this move to a new only market continues then I think ultimately it will in fact result in less sales overall. Some people just don't have the disposable income to buy all there games new, your not going to get any money out of them by punishing them by denying content or features. These people do subsidize the initial adopters by buying their games though and their money does filter up.

not giving Activision any of my money, guess Reach will be the last bungie game I buy new. I'll get a second hand copy if they release a good game but I'm not supporting a company like Activision

thinking DRM justifies you stealing a game is like saying a car alarm justifies you stealing someones car or someone with a house alarm deserves to be robbed. You can try and rationalize it to yourself all you want, you're still wrong.

I would finish it, just having your custom Shepard brought much more to the second game for me let alone all the decisions. If you turn the difficulty down to casual and only do the story missions you can blast through it in a day. I think I've done it in six or seven hours before and if your half way through then it wont take long at all.

I had a problem with Zaeed dying because I messed up his loyalty mission. I tried him leader both teams, going back with the crew and even being in my squad and he would always die at some point. The only thing that worked for me was to not use him for anything and have the crew stay instead of being escorted back and everyone lived. My reasoning was that the barricade would be stronger and so perhaps people would be less likely to die, either way it worked and 'pop' achievement unlocked.

For some reason I've decided to run through some of the more well received JRPG's. The reason for this is not really clear to me but that's kind of the point. The draw of relentlessly grinding through these stat heavy rinse and repeat sessions is something that still confuses me being both a complete waste of time to the passing observer and yet the pinnacle of satisfying gameplay to the enthusiast fan. This has become more evident in recent times with the explosion of the MMORPG but has clearly always been a part of gaming, even before it took an electronic form (D & D says Hello). Through this gargantuan task I'll check in with the highs and lows and try to get to the bottom of why these games are so appealing and hopefully be able to give some kind of insight into these games. Check back at a later date as this may take a while...

In the mean time I'm starting with Persona 3 FES for PS2 in anticipation of its sequels release and recommendation from a few ex 1upppers. Here I go...
