2020 is almost over and I think the only 2020 release I played was the C&C remaster.

Oh man, like Alex I take a long time to get up in the morning. I generally have to snooze for 1½-2 hours before I can get out of bed.

As for naps, one thing that has worked for me maybe twice but could be more effective for others is to hold your keychain or some other noisy thing (that doesn't shatter or explode) in your hand when you take a nap, the idea is that when you go are about to fall into deeper sleep your muscles relax and you'll drop the thing you have in your hand and wake up by the sound of it hitting the floor, and thus you'll only sleep for 20-25 minutes.

Huh, Labyrinth of Lost Souls certainly wasn't the highest point in the Wizardry franchise, but I'd still consider getting it and it's sequel for my Vita. I do love that genre.

I guess Labyrinth did do to well since the sequel never made it over, but perhaps there's hope Acquire might bring the Vita version over themselves since the translation already exists. At least we're getting a number of Wizardry derivatives - I've just started Operation Abyss, and I'm really looking forward to Stranger of Sword City - the art just looks stunning.

I am looking forward to giving Lair of the Necrodancer a try. Never did get around to that on Steam.

NecroDancer seems too much of a rhythm game for me. I like my turn-based games, well, turn-based. :)

Oh wow, I hadn't heard of Operation Abyss, but that seems to be exactly the kind of dungeon crawler I've been wishing for since the Hired Guns sequel was cancelled in the late 90's.

@fisk0: Romero included a readme file which said the original engine can't deal with the number of objects in the map, so a sourceport is definitely required.

Yeah, I know the readme says that, but it didn't crash last week when Brad was struggling with the controls, and he did at least get up the stairs past the starting room before switching to Zandronum, but in this episode it crashed before he could get out of the room.

So, lots of people in chat said the Romero wad just isn't compatible with vanilla Doom, but Brad did play it that last week without it crashing, the reason he switched to Zandronum then was that he didn't like Doom's default controls with arrow key movement, so it's pretty weird that it suddenly didn't work this week. I wonder if the DosBox setup he used this week wasn't quite set up correctly?

Maybe we should just go back to the 80's and 90's division between "video games" and "computer games", where computer games would include all the interesting stuff that wouldn't make it to consoles for technological or financial reasons - text adventures, grand strategy games, all the interesting personal stories told through ZZT and game mods.

Oh man, this looks like a great port. Sad they don't have the original music on the title screen though. It was pretty bad but kinda endearing and ridiculously anime.

Serious question: does anyone here really care about this? I'm asking because I just don't have any interest in Mario Maker.

And I find Dan at his worst when he goes into his hyper competitive persona. Not a good look.

Just my opinion and I understand others may disagree, which is why I'm asking.

I've found watching Patrick's streams really interesting. While these kinds of nightmarish levels aren't the things I'd personally play, I ended up buying a Wii U because of this rivalry.

Huh, Jeff and others on staff have said on multiple occasions that shooter games just don't work as esports people watch, but CSGO is pretty much the only esports thing that gets regular air time on national public Swedish TV, and seems to get pretty decent numbers of viewers.

They do the occasional StarCraft 2 and DOTA things too, but that's mostly relegated to their side channels and their streaming app, but CSGO is actually shown on one of their two major TV channels that can be seen by nearly every person in the country.
