@voidburger The story in Madness Returns goes, uh…places, that might make one want to take a shower, much like with 12 Minutes, just as a heads up.

My young-self also enjoyed the edgyness of the original back in the day. Madness Returns was kinda enjoyable action-platformer with neat visuals too, but the story…

Ah, it was actually Shadow Man 2 (or Shadow Man: 2econd Coming, if you will) that had the whole "Hey, should we advertise our game on actual tombstones?" marketing campaign, not the first game.

I think I only ever played a very poorly running demo of it back in the day on my pc. Looks a bit too dated to try again now, for me anyway.

I'm glad to see that they've made Teardown even more amazing. If it wouldn't make my PC catch on fire, I'd buy that thing immediately.

Shame we're still a long way from AAA games having that level of destruction and physics in them.

Huh. Might've liked this back in the day, but no memory if I ever saw it in a rental store.

This has been a great series. Looking forwards to whatever Bakalar, Jason and Jess end up picking next year.

@depecheload: I assume they meant Gerstmann, because Bakalar chimed in for maybe a whole five seconds during the discussion. Jeff did say he doesn’t care much about the story, while also saying that it’s an incredible game, but I assume the person went into a state of blind rage before that and ignored it.

Good to see the ”Jeff Gerstmann only likes Call of Duty” tradition hasn’t died off yet, even when I can’t remember him say anything about Vanguard after the launch week.

The Matrix thing is impressive, having also tried it myself. Someone just needs to get to solving the eye issue, because that's definitely still *the* thing that is instantly noticeable on human characters and especially so on famous people whose faces you're already used to seeing aplenty.

But I also rarely buy/play games until they're on sale (more or less) and have no interest in Halo Infinite anyways, so... *shrug* not in the target audience for it.

As someone on the opposite end, having spent around 30€ on my Game Pass subscription this year (and still have it run until March next year) and saving over 350€ on the digital games I played at launch and getting an identical experience to if I had spent money on those games individually, I would probably be surprised if they didn't bring up Game Pass frequently.
