@noobsauce: what? i was genuinely asking. gog is awesome, i finally got the gog 2.0 invite and having everything in one place tickles the part of my brain that would organize my itunes library for hours. if i get Cyberpunk it’ll be there. DRM free? heck ya... but also steam is still the default. like you said theyre the oldest.
i use the steam controller, enjoy big picture and continue to have most of my games on there. i hope the rumour they cancelled/shelved In the Valley of the Gods isn’t true
@mortimer: @mortimer: i mean, youre right. i wasn’t trying to focus on the US as a make or break market for google but as a large area with a pressure point. on it’s face, the best version of stadia is interesting— next year (when the founders edition isn’t a prerequisite and chrome browsers, and other devices are supported) Many people i know see the prospect of not buying a console and being able to play a lot of the big games announced at E3 with a release next year as very exciting.
@hobozero: ugh Ajit Pai. he’s like a reverse iphone. everything was o.k (not perfect), and then his fcc direction comes along and there are no guarantees for a bright future any time soon. other states are proposing or have proposed their own local net neutrality laws, but like california for example wont implement its laws until the lawsuits surrounding net neutrality and the fcc are over (so like 2 or 3 years). google is too la di da about an issue that now has bureaucracy and lobbyists surrounding it
@hobozero: @hobozero: i havent seen a place without data caps lately. especially since the fcc threw their hands up in the air. i mean what state or province are you in? these guys, and me too, are in california and that’s decidedly not some random midwestern state. i have to watch my data every month. ive had to just unplug my router a couple times and thats just from streaming video and getting things on xbox game pass for pc

i would love to see a geforce now comparison. im not sure it’s relevant to the bigger conversation as the ease of use isn’t there, and it’s in beta, and price isn’t announced— but those are all things google used to do. announce a thing, slowly roll it out, be better than most things on the market and then kill it if they were bored with it. like inbox. or google voice. or google fiber. or google fi.
@kendoebi: i was listening the besties podcast and one of the hosts describes this sentiment as “healthy.” What the squad did with the leviathan raid is end game stuff and there’s not much else to fight or do after that. The game really is at an end state once the max light level is reached and then it’s a waiting game for the next content.
