I also started with 4 and loved it. It has the best balance of goofy characters and fun gameplay. 5 is definitely way more fun from a gameplay perspective, but the writing isn't nearly as good. Its just not as endearing as the others. It has its moments, just its inherently not nearly as fun of a story. But I wouldn't recommend any of Disgaea for the story/writing alone. Its good as set dressing, just now what I'm here for.

People swear by Disgaea 1, but I found it such a slog to play. Those early games make it really hard to field a variety of units without it becoming more of a grind. Things like the cheat shop, squads/symbols, made 4/5 way easier and more fun to play. Anyway, 2 was the game where it actually clicked for me(I think its better paced) and 4 was the first one I actually finished. So yea I lean toward getting 5. Most of the fun in those games is messing with systems and that game has the most of them.

Sad that Geralt, isn't DBFZ dlc. Still holding out hope for Naruto.

Real talk, SC6 looks cool. Really want to see a real match, since all the footage seems to be like super animations or something.

I'm not super into RPGs but I loved Tyranny. Its short and sweet, with some really great writing. PoE on the other hand, just seemed like a drag. The kicker here is that I don't actually enjoy CRPG combat systems. I inevitably get stuck on one encounter, retrying over and over again, until I bump the game down to easy. I'm sure if I dedicate time and energy PoE gets amazing ,but Tyranny was more immediately interesting and felt better for a beginner.

2 and a half days to find which characters closest resemble my Skullgirls team. Or just Elphelt.

Been playing the PS4 version of this and having way more fun than I thought I would. That winch reminds me of fun accidents in War Thunder. Tried playing multiplayer but there doesn't seem to anyway of communicating. Still really fun, I especially liked the hill climbing challenge.

I found it pretty hard early on, until you get a few upgrades for dealing with heavies. The armor piercing for the assault rifle is good. So is the nail gun for the sub machine gun. My general strategy was to kill the leaders as quickly and silently as possible, generally kill all regular guys, and then using the upgraded stuff on the heavies. Dual wielding is really helpful for this! And in general really effective if you need to move forward.

But yea this is definitely harder than Doom on Ultra since you just have way less movement, health, and tools. That changes later ,but makes it rough early on. Also it is really hard to tell when you are getting hit a lot and enemies that briefly take a knee can get lost in the sea of bodies.

Watching the GT Sport quicklook left me thinking, is there a game like this but really good and for regular people? I played some Dirt 4 early this year and that game does a great job with its tutorials and teaching how rally racing actually works. Which is in addition to its decent career stuff and adjustable difficulty/handling. Unless I'm missing something ,these type of accessibility options and teaching tools don't seem to be the standard.

So basically what are the approachable modern racing games? Is F1 2017 good for people willing to learn about F1? Is Project Cars 2 secretly amazing? Do I need to know what Assetto Corsa even means to appreciate it?

Or bonus question, forget modern or new, whats just a good and approachable racing game?

The whole mind-breaking orcs thing didn't really bother me because the game was fun enough and they (very smartly) ignored all of that in the story. Its obvious how this would rub someone the wrong way and no amount of boring Tolkien lore about the orcs will change that. What really does save the game for me is how it doesn't even try or acknowledge that what you are doing is wrong. Its purely a systems based ,open world, gamey mess, with some whatever story missions strung along the way. Like it just doesn't even care ,which I think is better than its trying to seem smart by going "actually enslaving orcs is bad."Basically, l'm a rational adult who can enjoy a video game while also acknowledging its shitty subject matter.

I think D2 and PUBG are the only games that everyone on staff has played a lot and (mostly) enjoyed. So why not?

The difficulty seems fine to me. Its actually strange to me that so people are saying how hard this is. The bosses are super pattern based and the running levels(which are all kinda awkward?) are also pretty straightforward. The most unfair thing I've seen is the gravity switching, which can pop you back into an enemy if you're not careful. That and overall the art makes it not obvious what is and isn't lethal. Even then, levels are like 2 or 3 minutes and you get all of these tools to help. I don't mean to sound like I'm the best at this or anything. But the difficulty in this(so far) feels smoother than most other run and guns. And its not even close to something like Super Meat Boy.
