I think other important games would also be Street Fighter II, Halo, F-Zero, Sonic, Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, Half-Life, Pac-Man, Mortal Kombat and Myst.

I can think of a bunch of others and I think you are really gimping yourself by only trying to user shorter games. I think you could demo any game in a short period of time if you set it up right. It is kind of unfortunate that some of the most important games in history are a little long.

Mario 64 would be a big one as one of the first 3D platform games and really the first successful one.

I never really thought that a generation of hardware was based solely on the power of the hardware but more to the time period the console was released. Also, if the power of hardware was the most important aspect of a console generation the Atari Jaguar would have been the biggest console durning the SNES/Genesis days.

I consider the Wii U to be the beginning of the next generation, despite it most likely going to be less powerful than the next generation of consoles. I've never been one to basis the success of a console on its hardware but instead basis its success off the games. The Wii U has a pretty impressive launch window lineup and possibly after TGS this week perhaps a good amount of Japanese third part support.

It is really too early to call the fate of the Wii U yet and I believe that even Nintendo knows it will not sell as well as the Wii did. I would think it would be a huge success if it got half of what the Wii did in hardware.

@TobbRobb: I do not think it is wrong to be upset that you won't get to play a game. That is fine, I understand that. There are a few PC games that I would love to play but my PC isn't the most powerful around and I do not have the money to just go out and get a new one. I understand wanting to play a game and being upset that you cannot.

What I do not understand though is ranting about how you would rather not have a game exist because you won't be able to play it. You pointed out yourself that it was selfish to be like that and I agree. It is selfish and when you go posting online about how because there is something out there that you can't get and you would rather just have it not exist and deny all the other fans makes you seem a bit like an asshole.

"Bayonetta is a brand that we want to see become stronger, reaching the hands of more and more gamers..."

Platinum CEO Tatsuya Minami.

If that is truly the case, why bring the game to a system that isn't even out yet, doesn't have a built in fanbase, and won't be able to reach as many people as you would if you released it on the systems that the first title was on? Answer me that Platinum.

It's so frustrating though. I'd really, honestly rather not have the game exist than just being teased by a console I don't have any other interest in... Kind of selfish I know, but god fucking dammit.

I reaaaaaally hope the Wii U get some good exclusives now... I can't in good conscience buy it for one game.

What the fuck is wrong with both of you. The first game just didn't do well enough and only because Nintendo decided they would be ok with losing a truck filled with money to build up come cred with a few hardcore gamers does this game exist. I'm sure Nintendo knows they will not see much of a profit from Bayonetta 2, but them bringing it out when nobody else would is really a great thing. This reminds me of when Microsoft spent a bunch of money with Sega to get Shenmue 2 and Jet Set Radio Future, it really wasn't about making sales with those games as it was getting the Japanese hardcore game loving crowd to notice their system. Without companies willing to spend money to get out a message there would be a lot of sad Bayonetta fans right now, though there still are which kind of leads to my next point.

I do not understand the sense of entitlement and fanboyism that some people vomit upon the world when they do not get the game they want. Since the whole Wii U has been announced there has been nothing but endless bitching about how something should just go to a different console instead. I know this is what happens whenever a new console is launched, it just seems a lot worse this time. I know a lot of people are upset they the Wii U will most likely be eclipsed in power by the new consoles next year, but until I pick up one of those consoles I will have fun playing Bayonetta 2, Monster Hunter Ultimate, Rayman Origins, ZombiU (I liked this one at the chicago event), New Super Mario Bros Wii U, and whatever the hell other games get announced.

You people just need to get the hell over yourselves.

/end early morning hangover rant.

My rule for consoles is that I wait until there are 3-4 games I want to play until I pick one up. Since there are four at launch and I've wanted to play more zombie u since the chicago event I ended up getting a preorder. Unfortunately I ended up with the white unit but I have plenty of sd cards and one with 64 gigs. I also had little interest in Nintendoland.

The price is fine. I still have yet to see a game I would be interested in buying though.

Pretty much this and I don't like the Dreamcast situation they have put themselves with that thing.

I think Nintendo can avoid this situation if they keep focus on getting their own titles out in reasonable time. If they can keep a Zelda/Metroid/Mario/Pikmin always on the horizon they will probably be ok. They just can't dick around with their releases like they have in the past. I would also be interested in seeing how the Japanese adopt this console, if it becomes the biggest system in Japan then I could see a lot more Japanese third party support coming.

It won't hurt whatever the next Microsoft or Sony console is in the US due to North American players really staying focused on Western games. I could see it being the Japanese industry console of choice though.

This happened about 10 minutes away from where I work. I've never really been in that area before and outside of a guy I met in a class that is a practicing Sikh, I have never really known anyone of the Sikh faith. This is the kind of thing that everyone tends to think could never happen where they live, until it does. I have not felt so disheartened in such a long time and in all honesty I always was one of those people who just thought this was something that would just never happen in their town. Then I am reminded that a similar incident happened several years ago, though because of different circumstances, and that this is just a reminder that people can at times just be completely awful. It is assuring though that at the times people are just being complete monsters, there are people who step up and try to bring the community back together.

I have never really seen a lot of the racist undertones in this community that were displayed by this individual who committed this atrocity, and I hope that this is really just a one time thing. I am proud for my community though for really stepping up and helping others who are different from the majority of the local population. It is awful that these things happen, and even I know that we will probably never live in a world where they do not occur. I am really just hoping that the majority of society can stay on the right path and we can continue to live in a world where events like these are seen as completely heinous and never to be celebrated.
