Hmm. One that sticks in my mind was coming across the first enemy in Shadow of the Colossus. That music kicks in and then seeing it slowly make its way toward me... I think I dropped the controller!

Another one was playing Doom 3 with a full 7.1 surround sound system placed all around the room. At that point I'd never had a gaming experience quite like that.

Also at the time I'd never played a JRPG, and my friend let me borrow his copy of Final Fantasy 7. I was playing it for what seemed like ages, and I decided to call him up after I'd gotten out of the Gold Saucer section (and into that buggy) to ask him if I'd nearly got to the end of the game. He obviously laughed his ass off and told me I'd not even scratched the surface. And this.. blew my mind. How could a game be so long?!

I think you'll be fine, I have a 2 year old laptop which didn't cost me a whole lot, and it can handle most games that I throw at it.

The best advice I can give you is that performance is largely down to how optimised the game is.. for example Dying Light and Dragon Age Inquisition run quite poorly for me, on the other hand games like BioShock Infinite and DmC: Devil May Cry run absolutely fine with all settings racked up to Ultra... It's a bit of a mixed bag!

I wish I could play the PC version of Dragon Age, but all the DLC I bought in the past doesn't seem to be on their servers anymore. In fact, I don't think their servers are there at all. I kinda get the feeling they've abandoned that game for now.

I've not looked at the game for a few months though.. so things may have changed.

I probably wouldn't save any of them. I'd call the fire service and they'd hopefully save them all and put out the fire.

I've always wanted to play Chrono Cross. Did that game ever get a proper UK release on a system?

I watched it, and I think it just shows how a normal person would play it. They're quickfire things which you can jump straight back into if you go wrong - it doesn't matter if you misjudge your movements. Eventually you'll get there.

Things like fans just irritate me, I guess I'm either not used to hearing them or they're just an intrinsically annoying sound. Like now I can hear a little fan whirring away in my iMac and it's like a constant buzz. I just want to turn the thing off to stop it.

My bedtime routine is basically put phone on charge, turn off lights, put on earphones and stick a podcast on until I'm about to sleep. If I don't do that my mind will race as thoughts kinda all come together if it's not occupied. :p

Physical games eh.

  • PlayStation: 2
  • PlayStation 2: 8
  • PlayStation 3: 10
  • Xbox: 1
  • Xbox 360: 24
  • GameCube: 12
  • PC: 1

Total: 58

Most of them are standard affairs... Most will probably get sold eventually. Theres a few close to my heart I'll probably always have like Twilight Princess on the GameCube and Heart of Darkness on the PS1.

I live in Manchester, England.

Obviously it's famous for Manchester United, music and a lot of inventions and scientific breakthroughs were devised here.

I live about 8 miles from the centre, it's nowhere near as built up or as cramped as the city is, but I do like living here.

I liked it but it did get a little bit exhausting after a while and I just trailed off, stopped playing it towards the end of the game and I've never felt the urge to finish it. I may never do so.
