Map Pack 3 details. Dr. Pepper Kit-upgrades get dated, priced.

Dr. Pepper Kit-upgrades

DICE released some information on their official blog concerning the Dr. Pepper DLC, which was originally planned for a March 9th according to the VIP store, but is now releasing on Wednesday, March 21st for Xbox 360 users. No date for the PS3, but Sony is in the process of certifying it.

The DLC pack will contain new in-game awards and 4 achievements. Here are some pictures of the re-skinned gear.

Russia:

Gamers in the North America will have to use their Dr. Pepper codes to obtain the items, and people outside of the area can purchase the kits for 160ms points per-kit, or 440ms points for the bundle. Here are some pictures of the weapons that are the same for all sides.

Map Pack 3 Details

As of  April 20th that has been no word on this from the Official Battlefield Blog, but the in-game store has been updated with information on this upcoming map-pack.

This future map-pack will be free to all who have entered a VIP code. From the in-game store:

Map Pack 3 contains Laguna Alta (Squad Rush mode) and Nelson Bay (Squad Death Match mode)!

No release date is given for this map-pack.

How does this sit with people? For me, I rarely play squad deathmatch, and while I enjoy squad rush, the scale of the maps pale in comparison to the previous two map packs. I have made topics asking which rush and conquest maps people would want to see, I never saw anyone post saying they would rather have a squad rush or squad deathmatch map over a full conquest or rush map.

While this map-pack may not be a lot to look forward to, there are two untitled and unannounced items in the store cleared for VIP access. Most likely these are upcoming map packs, but the contents and release dates of them is unknown. Other game-modes have also been briefly discussed by DICE.

Nice post, but reading the details..... I'm significantly less than psyched.

First of all, am I to understand that gamers in North America cannot purchase the content? Reading over the blog post, that seems to be what it says, and it makes me angry. I had originally heard that the Dr Pepper deal was only available in the U.S, and even if that's not the case, I suspect properly marked cans will be rather difficult to find here in Canada (promo products usually are). Basically, I'm worried people in Canada and Mexico may be effectively locked out of this content.

As for the maps... I suppose it's good to have new squad maps, so that some more people might try and play those modes. On the whole though, I'm getting a bit tired of these rehashes, and I could really go for a legitimately new map, whatever the mode.

@Donos

I'm sure you'll be able to grab some codes if you have any buddies who live in the U.S.

I really cant tell the diffrence between the skins? Are these the new ones or old? Also the weapons are far to small to see. Also no details on the awards or achievements? Are the awards like pins and insignias?

I would like some new maps for rush and conquest, please. They shouldn´t call these things "map packs", since they basically just unlock variants of existing maps for other modes. Anyway, I would be happy if BFBC2 recieved some proper DLC before the next big wave of game releases hits.

I have no idea about the size of the team working on BC2, but my guess is that most of the BC2 team is transitioning to Battlefield 3.

Bigger pictures can be seen on Planet Battlefield, link is in the main post.

I think the next map pack will be SDM and SR maps also.

The game shipped with 4 maps available for each mode, the first 2 map packs added a map to Rush and Conquest so there are 6 maps for those modes but the squad death match and squad rush still only have 4 each...soon to be five.

It may not end up being the next pack released, but I think there will be one more with maps for these modes.

I mostly play Conquest, but I like the smaller scale of squad rush every once in a while.

For the Mass Effect 2 DLC the doctor pepper codes could be re used, If they have any common sense they'll have fixed it but you never know.

Yes I am too, but I just unlocked the recon upgrade.  You unlock them through the Dr Pepper website.  You need to create an account log in and then input your code and choose your prize.

That's map pack 3?  I rarely play squad rush and squad deathmatch... :(  I was hoping for new conquest and rush maps again... can't they release a map pack for all modes? hehehe!
