@klynn said:

The amount of "oh boy people are mad at a woman on the internet /surprise" bullshit in here is astounding. Just like not everything a woman says is wrong, not everything a woman says is right, either.

The people making that point want to have a completely different discussion from what the people they're making that point at are actually talking about.

Nobody other than those people are bringing up Abby's gender.

Nobody making the point that Abby's "Dan-ism" of "I never gave this thing a chance but I have this strong opinion on it anyway" is bringing up her gender, because it doesn't matter to the discussion. If Dan had of said this very same thing, it'd be added to the long list of things people would laugh at him about.

Anyway - Hellblade is a good game and speaking of Dan it sounds like he didn't actually get that far into it if he hasn't even encountered a first boss. The combat works and has some more depth to it that I think people give it credit for. Also, and this is a spoiler that I recommend you don't read if you intend on playing the game - but telling people that the perma-death thing is a lie is a massive spoiler which could ruin the game on people. The excuse of "oh it's everywhere on the internet" is bullshit. Not everyone goes everywhere on the internet. The only source I can find it on now, which I feel comfortable reading is from Eurogamer. The idea that you could lose all your progress if you die too many times makes the combat feel very tense, tension that would be lost knowing that it's a lie.

@kingpk: I remember seeing one of those plug in Sega devices at least 10 years ago. It had about 20 games in it.

Couldn't tell you if it was licensed or put out by Sega, but it had Sega branding and was being sold in a GAME store in Ireland (the UK version of Gamestop).

Mini-consoles with pre-baked games are nothing new, but everyone is pretending that because Nintendo are doing it now, that anyone else doing it is copying them - instead of you know, just doing what they've been doing for over a decade now.

@dan_citi: If I'd to guess it was part of a PS Now sizzle.

@nagafen: I live in Dublin (Ireland, not the US one) and encounter human shit on a regular basis. If you live in a major city with a large amount of homeless people, drug addicts and people with mental issues then chances are you'll happen across human shit from time to time.

@humanity: I think what happens is people misunderstand this sites community obsession with the ER and what the group actually think/thought of Persona games. And then new people come along, see the "cool in joke" to talk about and keep it going.

Jeff and Vinny (two members out of the entire crew) played Persona 4 through one time and enjoyed the experience of playing it for an audience more than the game. They didn't go back to play P3 or P3P or P3FES or P4G. They had little to no hype about P5.

It's just so long in the tooth now.

@humanity: I wanted to find that out on my deathbed, so I'm skipping this shit.

@xbob42: It's nice to see someone else go on about the change from unlimited ammo to limited ammo between 1 and 2 because that absolutely wrecked my head.

I wasnt able to lower the volume on the stream before hitting the spoiler, but I didnt rush because Peter said it wasnt a big thing. That guy needs to rethink what constitutes a big spoiler, particularly for games that have only released.

@ollieg_94: Fuckstick isn't even a word a 13 year old would say. It's an incredibly dated term, which sounds incredibly out of place in a shooter in 2017 featuring high tech drones and weapons.

You almost expect the characters in Wildlands to start talking about "Will Rachel and Ross ever get back together? I dunno about that whole 'on a break' thing!"
