In my head I imagined something like "Nehrim: At Fate's Edge" being available for 5 dollars as unofficial third party DLC. In practice I can get a hammer for 20 cents.

I like Skyrim mods but it's rare when I find one that's polished and content rich enough to warrant paying any money for it.

A pay what you want "0 dollars" option would alleviate most of the heat I think. EDIT: And it seems that Valve will be adding a "pay what you want" option that the creator can set instead of the preset options. Hopefully there will be a 0 dollar one, making it effectively a donation.

Maybe the backlash will be less bad when games get released with paid mod support from the start instead of people taking away their free mod and suddenly making it paid. I doubt that the new Unreal Tournament that will have a similar system will get anywhere near the same amount of heat since it will be a free multiplayer game.

I love your writing. I hope to see more of it someday.

I don't like twine 2.0. It's a web application and there doesn't seem to be support for keyboard shortcuts? It looks very annoying to work with. I prefer Twine 1.4 which is a desktop application.

You can play the demon on steam. It looks fun but I'm not sure if there is a lot of meat to it. If the variation comes from killing people in different ways, that's fine by me.

Dilemma. It starts at 11 pm here. Pretty late to watch live but watching a Mario Party VOD afterwards is no fun. I did that for Mario Party 3 and just ended up skipping towards the end to see the payoff.

Who will be broken this time?!

I wonder who will develop it. Robomodo? They recently posted this on twitter.

Infinity Ward? Maybe we could get some hot Call of Duty x Tony Hawk Pro Skater crossbranding. Tony Hawk gets to shoot a gun!

I'm surprised that you're still able to change stuff after you entered your game. I assumed that stuff was "locked down" from the moment that the entry period ended. Is this the same for all the other gamejams on Itch.io or is it a settings thing by the creator of the gamejam?

I had a very specific problem in Deus Ex HR that I never saw anyone else mention. I was dirt poor. I didn't have enough money to buy bullets so I had to resort to mugging innocent people on the streets for petty cash. I broke into a police armory to get like 6 bullets for a weapon. The 6 billion dollar man has fallen on hard times!

I thought Jeff pulled out some sick moves during that UPF. "just dodging and hitting stuff" isn't as straightforward as he makes it seem in my opinion.

I also got a whole different experience from the Souls games (mainly Dark Souls 1) than what the guys described on the podcast. The combat was secondary to the exploration aspect for me. You had this whole world that you could piece together from the architecture, items & enemy placements. If you looked through the window just right before opening the door to the very first boss, you can see him standing on a ledge, ready to jump on you. The castle level isn't just a castle level, the gods lived there. The stairs had big steps for them, and little steps on the side for the humans.
