More like backhanded sympathy really. Not being unusual or uncommon does not make it any good.
I disagree, I think it's worth it to express that despite your dislike and disapproval of someone you nonetheless recognize that their health and physical well-being are worthy of empathy and respect. It shows your ability to separate the ideas from the person.
Forums like these are like echo chambers, if someone with extreme distaste for TB and his content and commentary he produces were to truly express their reaction to this news were to comment and say
"great! I want that master-race piece of........"

They would be scorned and most likely banned from the community.
His views are very controversial at times (60FPS or GTFO).
I don't agree with some of his views and I don't like his content (something about his tone for me comes across as being entitled to things)
I wish him nothing but comfort and sympathy for his health and the possibility of recovery from his dire condition, way to young to go.
