@gregalor: The Japanese word used is "Kagami" (鏡), which is just the word for mirror.

When they announced it at the Pax Panel, Jeff said "If they're going to do a Shenmue 1 ER, that all but signs those idiots up for Shenmue 2" .

Regarding them being surprised that Ryo knew about the cat, they were talking over it but you can hear it meow as he approaches.

@csl316: Same gameplay style. I personally prefer it. As I understand it never got an official english localization, but there's a fan-translation out there.
