What is it exactly? What does it play like?

It's a Metroidvania game, with Dual-Joystick Shooter controls.  Actually, it mostly plays kinda like Aquaria, to put it in the realm of what it feels like to me.

Lol, what?  Is this like a reference to like Pearl Jam or something?

Sounds like a very short game.

Yeah, it's probably a tad shorter than say Super Metroid or Shadow Complex, though I can beat those 2 games faster than the time I beat Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet.  Take from that what you will :p

I want to say it took me about 15 hours to 100% with no guide or help what-so-ever.  So, about a $1 an hour of entertainment.  But it also has multiplayer, which is actually pretty fun.  I've been playing it with my friend Cyrus (#2 on the Leaderboards).

If you guys play a game called Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet next week, you can say that one of your fellow Giant Bomb Dooders was the 3rd person on the planet (not a shadow one) to ever 100% the game!  I even beat GameSpot's Justin Calvert :p

I was almost #2, but my friend Cyrus beat me to it by just a hair. I actually 100%'d the game map before he did, but he got 100% on everything else + the map before I could.  #1 doesn't even count because we believe that it's one of the devs... anyway, I'll forever be immortalized as such, on the XBOX 360 Leaderboards, since I don't believe Microsoft is gunna wipe them before release next week!  Yes, it's got the same kinda lame Leaderboards as say Bastion or Braid.

Currently, only 4 human beings in this world have ever 100%'d the game.

Anyway, I think I may try for a review and maybe even a guide here soon.  If you want my early review here it is:  "There is no doubt in my mind, no one should pass on this game!  Worth the $15 for sure!"

If you guys have any questions about the game, go ahead and post them up and I'll try to answer them.  I guess I'll toss-up a User Review here on Giant Bomb when it's available.  Cheers!

EDIT:  Fixed 2 grammar mistakes in my original post.

Also, I am one of the first people to get all 200 Gamerscore on this game, which looking at things, only 3 people have ever done it!  Along with Cyrus and Infamy, us 3 were able to kill-it in multiplayer and we all got 200G at the same time!!!

This is what it looks like on my TrueAchievements.com profile, when you're the first in the world to get an Achievement or 2 it just gives you a score of 125! :O

So hey, what happens if I bought Bastion before this was even announced? I got it yesterday and saw nothing about The Maw, and now when I look up The Maw, it's still $10.
Yeah, it wasn't a deal until 1 day after Bastion was released, I believe.  Also, you have to buy it through the Microsoft Store, which believe it or not, is not actually the same thing as Microsoft's XBOX Marketplace.

I guess hopefully, you'll be interested in From Dust and get this deal anyway.  I know I'd be kinda miffed too, if I wasn't going to buy From Dust myself.

Does that make sense?

If you're planning on buying From Dust next week, or still haven't picked-up Bastion yet, you may want to do those things through the Microsoft Store.  They will give you The Maw for free!

Here are the links:

It also shouldn't mess-you-up, if you're trying to get Crimson Alliance, by purchases all 5 Summer of Arcade Games!  It mentions it in the fine print at the bottom of each page.

That could potentially be 7 games for the price of 5!  Cheers!

I ordered mine from Amazon and within about 10 minutes, they emailed me a code.  I applied it to my official SWTOR account and it worked like a charm.

Maybe call EB Games and ask them, as maybe the Clerk forgot something?

Hey guys.  Just putting this out there.  <3 the Giant Bomb Community.

One of my friends is currently in beta and his SWTOR Beta Folder is currently over 36GB in size.  That means that throughout his time in beta, he has actually downloaded that much.

Now, I'm not saying the final release will be this big, building software in debug usually makes things bigger as well, or maybe there's a bug currently in the patcher not deleting old unused data, etc... but just consider for a moment that the folder was even half this size on the final build?

That still a ton of gigs you'd have to download.

Another augment against buying a physical copy could be that you will have to download it anyway to play in the "early access" program.  Well, this is true, but also what if you ever just need to re-install or get a new computer?  At least a disc will get you a long where there and then you'd just have to patch a few gigs most likely.

This isn't a Steam vs. Origin propaganda post or anything either... but if you're into that, then yeah.

If you still have yet to pre-order, you might take into consideration what I've said above, instead of getting a digital only version.  Hope that helps someone out with their decision!  I personally bought mine from Amazon.  Cheers!

I choose one of each, a different set per the 2 games I played through.   Endings were alright.  Wish they could have had a tad more to it though.

I got all 200 Gamerscore in 1 day and all my Achievements say 7/20/2011.

Great game I'm sad to see go so fast...

Although, I wonder what the last screen would look like if you don't save Zulf, but do Evacuate (or the opposite, save Zulf + Activate)?  Maybe a couple other play-though are still in my future?
