I went to StarBase Arcade last week and there was like 30+ dudes there playing/streaming.  Some of them were iPlayWinner.com guys and other pros (NorCal players @ StarBase/Keystone/SFSU/iPlayWinner).  I polled a few of them and it seems like this is the way that most of them have their buttons set:

F.P     BLOCK     B.P    THROW
F.K    STANCE   B.K     TAG

So, this is the in-depth break-down:
   X = Front Punch (F.P)
   Y = Block
   A = Front Kick (F.K)
   B = Stance Change
RB = Back Punch (B.P)
RT = Back Kick (B.K)
LB = Throw
LT = Tag

For PS3 (X = Square, Y = Triangle, A = X, B = Circle, Bumpers = R1/L1, Triggers = R2/L2).

A couple of them did switch their Block and Stance buttons though, but everything else is the same.

I've been using mine like this ever since and loving it.  My middle finger (strongest finger) is mostly riding that Block button this way :)

It's nice too, because you can also easily press both Front (Punch+Kick) for a Throw, both Block + Stance for X-Ray, or both Back (Punch+Kick) for a Tag.

Beyond that, a lot of them were not happy that MK (2011) isn't Tournament Grade in it's current state and needs a patch, because of the lack of Presents + Button Config during Player Select/Matches.

Hope that helps!

Some people, who have had the game since Friday, are reporting that the patch is also to block people from using Scorpion's (and maybe others) pre-order exclusive Fatalities without unlocking them first.  I'll try to find the link later and edit my post with it.
So, if this is the case, you guys may want to first try them out in the Fatality Trainer right when you get the game, see them and say "cool"... and then patch the game and play normally.  But if not, I'm sure they'll be all over YouTube shortly anyway.

Scorpion's GameStop pre-order exclusive "Toasty" Fatality is supposedly (Hold Block or Stance) + D, U, U, (Release Block or Stance), + Y (360) / Triangle (PS3).

EDIT:  Be careful to do this on another account on XBOX 360, if you care about time-stamping your Achievements with Live!

EDIT2:  Here's Scorpion's GameStop pre-order exclusive "Toasty" Fatality being pre-formed on YouTube:

@loki9876: You'll see him soon enough when you play the game (or watch live streams/YouTube videos) :p

@loki9876:   Motaro's already in the game and none of the bosses are playable normally, outside of special modes.

My guess is that Rain will be the first DLC character after the initial run of Kenshi/Lady in Red.  Fighting people with a modern purple ninja would own :p

EDIT:  Spoiler Tags are so broken on this site, I'm not even gunna bother anymore.

For now, I'm just playing the demo on my PS3 but have decided to get the game on 360, since more of my friends are.  While it would be nice to get a 360 demo, so that I could practice with my 360 FightStick before the real game drops, o-wells.

Maybe something to keep some of you guys going could be that the rumor on the street is that the 360 version of the game is actually going to have it's own set of exclusive content, so maybe not having an exclusive character and demo will be worth it.  This supposedly came from the same guy that leaked

Here is what the 360 is rumored to be getting:
  • Exclusive Mode: Puzzle Kombat - Features online play, leaderboards, and avatar support.
  • Exclusive Arena: The Pit 360 - Remake of The Pit III from MK3 (the indoor one with the spinning blades at the bottom).
  • King of the Hill mode will include avatar support.
  • DLC Character "Lady in Red" will be available to Xbox Live users as a free download for a limited time after her release.
  • Exclusive avatar gear will be available for purchase.

The demo is alright but you won't even care in 2 weeks.  It also kinda sucks with only the 4 characters they have... they should have had all the original seven MK 1 characters on the demo, in my opinion.

EDIT:  Not sure if my spoiler tag is working correctly... when I edit it, it works, but not when I commit it back to the thread.  I tried in both Chrome and Firefox.  But since this is Giant Bomb, the notoriousness of shit not working correctly happens all the time and I stopped caring a long time ago.

AOL Music put like a preview soundtrack up or something, you guys can listen to it here:

EDIT:  Whoops, I'm about an hour too late.   Sanious already posted the AOL Album in this thread and I guess I missed it.   Anyway, so many of these songs are sweet as hell!

I just saw Anamanaguchi live a few months ago, 1 show before they played at PAX.  It was an awesome show in a tinny bar in San Francisco!

There was like 5 or 6 acts/bands there all playing chip-tune-ish music.  The show was called "8-bit SF" if I remember correctly.  The owner of the bar cooked everyone bacon and we all ate it with Anamanaguchi :)
