Nostalgic Games

These are games that, for some reason. always remind me of a certain moment/time/person/event/whatever in my life. Good or bad. GO!

List items

  • Alright, NOBODY knows about this game except for me and my brother. It's certainly not a bad game either. I always associate Christmas time with beating this game (first and only time so far), Drew Carey Show/Just Shoot Me re-runs and Clue... The Movie. Too strange.

  • All those times I faked sick during high school... always think about CS: Source. Or anytime I got home from school. Yep. Played a loooot of CS:S during high school.

  • Right after I beat Wing Commander 3 for the first time towards the end of... say... 2004? Maybe 2005. Time. Anyways, right after I beat that game, I immediately went onto Ebay and bought myself a PC copy of WC4. Aaaand finally beat it the week/ night of New Year's Eve. So now I associate New Year's Eve with Mark Hamill and Malcolm McDowell. Could be worse.

  • I played this game for like... 8 hours one night. Non-stop. No joke. And that was it. Fun game.

  • First MATURE (OH MAN) game that I bought after I turned 17. Still haven't beaten it. Hm.

  • The perfect game to associate with strange transitional times and being snowed in at your house. When you live in Colorado during the winter time (or even Spring), you'll understand what that really means.

  • The game that me and my brother played CONSTANTLY during our early summer breaks. Oh Minsc.

  • When I finally got my own computer (A hand me down Pentium 75 from my parents, it was a big square box of a computer...), this was the game I played quite a bit of on it. That and...

  • This.

  • When I think of my best friend and all the games we've played together over the years, this one sticks out the most to me. Played sooo much Warriors with him. RIFFS!

  • Me and a good buddy of mine have played a lot of this one together. Only actually beat it once, but hey... we got a ton of in-jokes out of it now. "YEAH ME TOOOOOO!" "DOWNTOWN" "Can't talk to Neeshka... CAN'T TALK TO ANYBODY" Yeah, it's kinda buggy.... KHELGARIRONFISTJUSTLIKETHELASTTIMEYOUASKED.

  • Another old (and obscure) PC game that dominates my early gaming memories. Cheesy/ridiculous European game, but pretty cool for it's time.

  • Demo discs. Halloween. Played the hell out of the Max Payne demo. No joke.

  • Pretty much the only game I played during my middle school years. Pretty much.

  • I picked this up at Best Buy the day after Christmas of '01. It was the last one they had and I remember some random customer behind me going "Boy, I'm glad I got my copy early" or something like that. This game, GTA3 and Devil May Cry were my first Playstation 2 games when I got one that Christmas and it was... awesome. Like, a lot of OHMYGAWDPRETTYFUN moments during that whole winter break.

  • When I got my (1st) Xbox 360 for Christmas, I got this game and Saints Row. This was the one that I played to death and I feel like I'll always look back at the 360 and think of this game. He's... covered wars, you know?

  • Me and my friends were constantly talking about this one during our early high school years. The voice acting is just so... good. "WELCOME.... TO THE COLONY..." "GOLD! THAT'S MINE FOR STARTERS" A cool, but kinda janky, open-world RPG.
