They didn't. They reskinned Clash Royale, Phone Destroyer, or the other billions of games on the market with command and conquer assets in an attempt to milk cash out of people who have been waiting for the next great RTS from the series.
@gunflame88: @crysack:There's a ton of new content and activities to be found in this dlc- more than the previous DLC pack by far. Tons of changes to the game that make it feel a lot more fresh and fun (that everyone gets, regardless of DLC purchase) and then with the DLC you get the (admittedly short) campaign missions, but then you also get 6 new adventures, a new raid (shorter than the base game's raid but full of new environments and mechanics), new strikes, new pvp maps, and new endgame activities like Escalation Protocol.
There's a ton of gameplay to be found in the expansion, it's just that when the discussion happens about the DLC, it immediately gravitates to "THERE'S ONLY 3 CAMPAIGN MISSIONS IT'S SO SHORT" but there's way more to it than the campaign.
the aesthetic of this game and the gameplay is oppressive and exhausting. I've played more than a handful of games, and once the initial "whoa" factor of it being OMG SO 80'S GUYS you're left with a shooter game that's.... competent i guess? but the aesthetic is offputting if you're playing a lot of this game.
Also, the idea that you can find cosmetic items in the world and then later buy them with cash that you earn in the games adds a cool permanence to the things you do in the game- HOWEVER. The cash prices for some of these items ARE RIDICULOUS. I found a "legendary" pair of "burger commando" briefs, that cost 175,000 cash... and i'm making around 1000-2000 cash on average from playing a match- my highest was 4k, because i got around 7 kills just by camping the supermarket with a shotgun and a handful of decoys- and if I got say, 2000 a match, that's at least 90 games before i could buy a single piece of cosmetic gear.... or I could pay 5 bucks, and have it now... hmm.
Anyway, point is, this game's fun, but it's not different enough and it doesn't introduce any new mechanics that would make it stand out above the 2 big Battle Royale games right now.
With that said though, at least there are more people playing this than are playing Lawbringers.
@larmer: you could always skip the entire inflammatory "lel my opinion" paragraph and just amend your statement.
Instead of "Star Wars is Boring." You could have saved so much typing by just saying...
"I think Star Wars is boring." This implies that it is your opinion and it's what you believe, instead of making the declarative statement that Star Wars is boring.
I'm honestly in the "meh" camp, Rogue 1 was a fresh take on the star wars series, but i dunno how i feel about the other movies. The lego games are pretty fucking sweet though.
As a person who's deeply involved in the monster hunter community, Monster Hunter World is gearing up to be a tremendous game.
The game is looking to be much more accessible on the entry-level (as seen in this video, even Brad was having fun with the game) and still offers a TON of depth to someone who can completely master their weapon.
I really hope that GB takes a serious look at this game when it comes out, and doesn't just pass it off as "A weird game". It's that attitude that's really kept the game from being popular in the west; journalists just saying that it's a weird game and never really spending the time to get a grasp on what the game truly offers.
Over the past 3 months, i've put nearly 400 hours into three different classic monster hunter games (mhf1, mhfu, mhp3rd); playing them live on stream with multiplayer, and there really isn't another multiplayer game like it. Hunting with your friends and taking down a monster that you've had SO much trouble with is just the most satisfying shit ever. You think finishing a hard-mode raid on Destiny with 5 friends is satisfying? Try taking out a White Fatalis with three friends, the coordination and teamwork having to be completely on-point at all times.
I could go on and on and on about Monster Hunter. In fact, I'm thinking about writing a blog on this site about it- the things i've noticed, my excitement for the changes in MHWorld and why they're significant, that kind of thing...
If games like this have controller support, you should probably look into playing them with a controller.
Normally I'm totally immune to people on videos whipping the mouse around as fast as they can in FPS games, but this one's super-narrow FOV combined with the extremely high sensitivity on the mouse made it so that not even I can watch this video.
Playing them with a controller would alleviate this issue, a lot of the time.
Hey! That's not very fair! The box art for the games in the gallery shows off the Game Boy versions for the games in the collection, but the Game Boy games aren't in there!? That's a shame. Those would be great unlockables!
