It is probably masking a loading screen or something like that. There is no reason not to make it skippable unless the game is doing something in the background.

Although it is Nintendo, so who knows. Either way, you definitely can't skip it.

Nintendo have been getting a ton of criticism for their busted voice chat. Every podcast I listen to has been critical of it, every community I visit has been critical of it. Countless gaming websites have posted articles criticising them. Literally everyone is talking about how broken the system is. If anything, when you consider how few people actually use voice chat on consoles, you could consider this response disproportionately harsh on Nintendo.

First thing I did after the tutorial was turn them off. I understand the positives people are saying about them, but I find them frustrating. And I'm not willing to spend 5 hours of my time being varying degrees of frustrated before I can finally have a good time with the game. I'm having fun using the stick. I will continue to have fun using the stick. I don't have the time or inclination to spend hours frustrated with the motion controls just so I can eventually be slightly better at the game.

@danishingact: Not extortion as such, but you can get them far cheaper online or even from supermarkets. I don't know why you would buy a new release from GAME. They sometimes have decent prices on sale, but for new releases you're getting ripped off compared to the competition.

There will also be the evening shows on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. There is no confirmed times yet, but it'll be some time after the E3 show floor closes for the day. Squeenix's marketing of Hitman was pretty atrocious. There were tons of people who didn't know what that game was or what the episodic model actually involved. And Squeenix's sales expectations are infamous for being ridiculously high.

Steam Spy lists just over $600k sales, and can't differentiate between the $15 starter pack and the full game. A lot of those sales are probably the starter pack. An it has been on sale several times for pretty damn cheap. So it doesn't seem to have sold very well. Sales definitely didn't meet Square's expectations.

So this news shouldn't really be that surprising. IO haven't really had a major hit under Square, so looking to sell the studio on makes sense. I just hope the Hitman IP goes with them so they can continue to work on Season 2.

Ideally they would include stuff like Quick Look's under a header like "non-review coverage" rather than the "in-progress" review header, but featuring stuff like that on the metacritic in some way isn't a bad thing. Reviews and scores are becoming less and less relevant, Metacritic need to move forward and highlight more modern coverage that people want to discover.

I really loved Jessica Jones. It is such a dark story, drastically different from the traditional Marvel superheroes running around in tights of The Avengers and most of the other big blockbuster superhero stuff.
