Oh 2010, as you draw to an close it´s time to look back at your stash of games, marketplace purchase history and steam list and reminisce about all this money we spend on games we´ll never finish, all those points that got eaten away by midweek sales and all those steam sales.

Let´s be better gamers next year and finish the games we buy, shall we?

15 games I abandoned (and one I fell in love with) in 2010 :

1. Ms. Pac-Man

Modern Warfare 2 smashed my controller against the wall. I stopped playing Modern Warfare 2 that day. (I didn´t) Still, I had to buy a new controller and this bundle was on sale. Played Ms.Pacman for 5 minutes, never touched it again.

2. Lumines Live!

I had already played this on my psp. I am bad at Lumines. I didn´t touch this game.

3. Bomberman Live

It´s bomberman. Maybe I´ll play it again sometime. But probably not, I´ve got a few more games I have to play first.

4. Peggle

XBLA-Version. It´s peggle, but it´s not the same without a mouse to point a pegs and get my precision down. It´s like

5. 'Splosion Man

It was on sale... The trial didn´t really do mcuh for me, but it was cheap and I had points. And all the reviews were positive. And I really like twisted pixel as a company. The full version still didn´t do much for me :(

6. Puzzle Quest 2

DA DA DA DA DAAA DADADADADADA DAAAAAAA DA DADADadada... Why is this game so much less fun than part one?

7. Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light

I really, REALLY like this game, singleplayer is great. I really have to get back to playing this. Damn it.

8. Costume Quest

Damn it, vinny. You getting stoked on a quick-look can pursade the coldest, most skeptical man into buying a cute little game. And I am far away from being the coldesst, most skeptical man. cute game, will finsih it. promise.

9. Pac-Man Championship Edition DX

EAT MORE GHOSTS. Need more time to play this. Loving it. And an easy S-Rank!!

10. Serious Sam: The Second Encounter

Why did I buy this?

11. Tom Clancy's EndWar

Oh the potential...

12. Far Cry 2

Anthony Burch LOVES this game.

13. Age of Empires III

It was 10 points.

14. Red Dead Redemption

If anybody can explain to me why I stopped playing this game, please do. Because I can´t. I truly can´t.

15. StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty

See above.

 And the one:
GOTY
GOTY
 See you guys next year^^

To the guy who asked me if I´d torture someone if it saves a thousand/millions.

I have no idea. I think I would get the knifes ready (or what else you´d use) and then would be unable to ram them under his fingernails.
Or I would do it and come out of the room as a broken man. I don´t think you can just torture a man, hear him scream in pain and fear and then think to yourself: "He deserved it, I had to do it" and live your life happily.

I am well aware that torture has been a part of every war mankind has ever fought, but it seems to me that it has been become an accepted method to protect your own country for most people.
Jack Bauer does it and the plot justifys it, Bush authorized it as "advanced interrogation methods", You see it in more and more pop culutre media. I see a connection.
Example for an AIM: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZ1NYizv2sw&feature=related
And I feel like politicans right now could go out in public, say we kept him sleepless for 90 hours and had his fingers broken one by one, but as it turned out he was innocent and only admitted everything so we would stop, and a good portion of the american people would think to themselves: Yeah thats war, what ya gonna do" or "That´s awful, but we have to do it, to protect our freedom" and carry on with their day to day live.

Maybe it´s because I´m german and we have become very very sensilbe when it comes to huamn rights and violence and all that stuff, but two years ago we had an huge media outcry and debate over an police officer who threatend an suspected pedophile with torture.
And if we had an german abu ghraib german troops would be back in germany within weeks, our minister of defence would be replaced within a few days and we would have people demonstarting against the afgahn war within 24 hours. And I´m fing glad we would.

I love it that people here are more scared of the goverment taking away their freedom, then they are of bombs going off in berlins subway.(which I belive IS going to happen within the next decade)
If it´s going to happen, it´s goign to happen. And I don´t think torturing an tliban and killing a few 100 beacause of it is going to decrease the chances of an terror attack at all.

It´s possible that the CIA catches the designer for the next 9/11, and gets the information it needs to stop the attack. I just don´t think they can do it every time, but they sure as hell give those nutjobs in afghanistan some pretty storys they can tell to Achmed, 17 years old, who lost his father and mother in 2003 to an american hellfire rocket and has since then barley survived, until some taliban picked him up, gave him clothes and some fresh new ideas on who´s the good guys and who´s the bad guys in this world.

 Alright back on Topic:
I don´t want to tortue people, and it makes me feel uneasy to pull the trigger  and make my alter ego do it. Which is not to say a game shouldn´t put me in this situation. But it should give me the option to walk away and live with the consequences of my actions. I konw CoD is not the game that does this deep moral stuff, but if it decides to portray torture it godamn should be.

And torture will probably be a part of war for eternity, but it shouldn´t be and it musn´t be.
It´s against everything I have ever learned about moral and everything I belive in to be right and wrong. So that treyarch could just put it in a videogame and no one seems to take notice or talk about it is beyond me.

@SpikeSpiegel:
IThose who just dropped dead after afew shots? No, I didn´t, they were nameless, souless "robots".
Those who I stabbed in mini-cutscenes and those whose limbs I shot off, and watched them die slowly? Yes.

Hey, am I the only one who got grosed out by the game forcing me to tortute this guy in Numbers?
I´ve tried not do it, sat there for a minute until I realised i could not keep playing without punching hsi face in and cutting up his tounge in the progress. Apart from my roomate, who had the same reaction, I´ve found noone else who seemed to be unsetteled by the sequence. (apart from an consiparcy-nutjob on youtube)
The guys on the bombcast didn´t even mention the scene.

So first, are there more people like me and my roomate?
And to all you who just punched him, why did you do it? Because it´s just a game? Because it´s what the character would do?
Because it has become an accepted fact that soldiers torture prisoners to get information?
?

I´ve just did a google search and not one gaming website picked up on it.

No...thats not the point, it spawns the other team right behind you while my team is still there. So everybody is in 1 small part of the map. "
Yes, it happens. Espically on Array, Cracked and Nuketown.
Once on cracked our team and the enemy were practically trapped in the area of the wager mode cracked version because the spawns were broken.
Have UAV as ypur first killstreak and dont use it if your team got an uav already up in the air (jappens way to often). If you see those red dots behind you turn around, get cover be aware people most times spawn in packs of two in black ops. Clean them out, look at the spawn for another 5 seconds, turn around an keep fighting.

No game is perfect, black ops is close. This and the knifing fixed and I´m in love.
