The true story arc of this series was Vinny's redemption from hardline anti-grinder to grinding enthusiast. Heartwarming.

The worm v. gods situation keeps getting better as they patch it. It isn't perfect yet but if you play this game, well, you know what you're in for. Some of my more recent Noita triumphs include winning despite angering the gods, and finding out that casting a (literal) nuke on the final boss is not a good idea. This is a very good game.

@bathala: That weapon is BS and you know it. J'accuse! I forbade myself from using it on NG+ as it makes a mockery of everything. It is a faithful recreation of the situation in SOTN, however.

@goukiband: The main character is obnoxious by the end, but I'm willing to let some of it slide due to it being pretty old at this point. I think it was a bit more normal for games of this kind back then to essentially assume that all of the copious reading you can do just isn't canon for the main character to have experienced, or something. If he's in a speedrun, it makes more sense that he has completely failed to internalize all of the stuff you learned or why anything is happening! As such, I'd accuse it of having some of the best writing in video games, particularly for the concept and universe they establish.

This game is dope as hell, and not eating food because I didn't understand that it gave permanent buffs made it a hell of a lot harder until I finally tried it like 85% of the way through. So kudos to Dan for saving Vinny from that.

However, boo Dan, Vinny doesn't need the Crissaegrim. No one does. It breaks the game completely. Lightsaber is good enough!

@eccentrix: You are correct, it cheats its virtual ass off. Five minutes into this video I remembered exactly why I stopped playing forever back in the day. Thanks for saving me the heartache I'd have had from this purchase, giantbomb!

This series is excellent. Those who are offended by the treatment of the sacrosanct Donkey Kong 64 should consider reevaluating their lives.

Dan should absolutely have stopped gambling long before he did, and I'm so glad he didn't.
