Some of the most fun I've ever had (and one of the greatest learning experiences about level design) was making maps for the original Doom a few years back for a highschool project. The constraints of that engine are so tight in some spaces (as we saw when Brad tried to play John Romero's new level) that it forces you to really think about how you're arranging the windows, corridors, doors etc. so you don't hit the engine's linedef limit.
Definitely worth downloading Doombuilder and giving that a shot if it sounds interesting to you.
The thing with Bloodborne I've seen is that you're either good at fighting humanoids, or monsters. Usually not both. I was really lucky in that I'm way better at fighting people than nightmarish aberrations. That way I got Gascoigne on my first shot without even knowing I could use the music box just by kiting him around the tree in the corner to the right of the entrance, as well as just dodging under his second form whenever he jumped at me.
My favourite thing about being Australian is that we always feel super good whenever people from overseas even briefly mention us. Dropbear references are a bonus.
@drewbert if you liked the GitS movie you should totally try watching the Ghost in the Shell TV show Stand Alone Complex. It's really good!
@brad That voice actor in Hitman you recognised is Crispin Freeman who plays just general soldiers in Metal Gear. He's also in a tonne of anime, like Ghost in the Shell.
