The first LBP didn't do much for me, but I am head over heels in love with the sequel.  Everything just feels much tighter and the visuals just pop, giving the whole package a much more cohesive feel.  The single player story levels are up there with some of the best 2d platformers around-- I'm constantly getting Super Mario World vibes because of the way they've mixed freedom with ultra-tight controls (especially when I'm grabbing and throwing objects).  It's worth noting that World 3 is an homage to Brazil.  FUCK YES I SAID BRAZIL.   And the downloadable levels? Already I've played countless amazing levels that go far beyond anything I could imagine a game like this having.

As someone who has already played, completed and loved Mass Effect 2 five times now, I feel comfortable saying LBP 2 has already proven itself the superior game.  Since they both came out this week on PS3, I have to recommend getting LBP 2 over ME2. I have a feeling that barring any surprises, my game of the year has already been chosen.  This is a system-seller folks.

AWK's music is the celebration of positivity,  freedom,  sincerity, clarity, and simplicity within a genre known for glorifying the complete opposites of all of these things.

"I Get Wet" is one of my favorite albums ever.  It's hella short, but damn is it sweet.  He's like Cake or Green Day; there's a very specific template to the music with just enough room for variables to keep things interesting.  If you dig the template, great.  If you don't, then you're just not going to like anything they put out.

I've completed Mass Effect 2 five times now, and I'm sure I'll complete it a few more times once I get it on PS3 tomorrow.

an acquaintance wants to buy my two year old noisy Wii with two remotes, one nun chuck, a classic controller and about 20 virtual console games on the hard drive-- what seems like a reasonable price for both of us?

I still love my PSP GO.  I'm happy to report that I still use it virtually every day, but I don't think I would use it as much if I didn't have a case for it.  The case I use can be found here:

http://www.amazon.com/PSPgo-Protective-Case-Black-Sony-PSP/dp/B002LHGOU0

It's designed to let you flip a cover over the screen quickly and easily, adding much to its portability because you'll never have to worry about scratching the exposed screen. It's very snug, adding very little to the size of the Go itself.  While the case is soft to the touch, it serves as a shell that shields it from being dropped or dropping small objects onto it.  The sides of the case have padded areas that slow the sliding of the device's   screen (which I initially thought was a defect, but has proved over time to be one of the best things about it), helping prevent unwanted closings and preventing unnecessary wear and tear from repeated closings and openings.  All plug inputs and outputs have adequate room built into the case, so you'll never have to remove the case for anything, even for syncing with a computer or charging.   The best thing I can say about it is that it makes me feel more than comfortable taking the device virtually anywhere, and not feeling anxious about quick tosses to a shelf or other daily hazards.

I do have a few minor complaints.  The case doesn't allot quite enough room for reaching the volume toggle for my fingers, which makes adjusting the volume more of an affair than I'd like.  I can still use it, but I have to turn the device around to adjust volume.  It also seals itself with velcro, which actually works quite well, but as any user of velcro can tell you, it's noisy.  I know this is a pretty lame nitpick, but if you're the type of person that uses portable devices on the toilet during company time, then maybe you should think twice.

All in all, the case has greatly contributed to my enjoyment of the device, and I can't imagine taking it all of the places it has gone if it didn't have that sort of protection.  Highly, HIGHLY recommended.

"Phantasy Star Portable 2  Ys series (especially Ys Seven) Sega Genesis/Megadrive Collection (gotta have some classics) God of War series Gran Turismo (no career mode but still 800 cars and 30+ tracks) LPB Age of Zombies (mini)  Lots of good games to pick up cheap these days. All the Greatest Hits are $20 or less. "
wow can't believe I forgot to mention Gran Turismo and Age of Zombies. Two ESSENTIALS. "
Really? GT on the PSP was good? Everyone was just so negative on it... "

The driving model is just as good as GT5 in my opinion, and I think people were negative on it because it's not the type of game you play for hours at a time.  It is perfectly designed for shorter pick up and play sessions (an essential element of portable gaming imo, and why I don't like MGS or God of War portable games) while still giving you a carrot to chase in the long term.
