I don't want to spend any real money until I'm sure everything is running smoothly, which I don't trust yet. The only thing I know I will spend money on so far is bank tabs, the one you get is just way too small for me.
First off killing mobs is a bad way to get experience, no matter which zone you're in. Atleast in my experience you don't get much from them. I would say maybe do some crafting, you get good experience from that. If you're 15-16 you should be able to get started on a 15-25 zone or whatever the next is, otherwise you can go and do the starting area for another race. I find exploring cities and zones to be the best (and most fun) way of leveling, just explore an area, find POI, get the vistas, participate in events, do the hearts if they aren't too tedious. Then again if you don't find the game very fun then maybe it's just not for you.
Yeah. A bunch of us from the guild did it together. We had a guide that knew what he was doing so the navigation was super easy. It was still really cool though. I recently stumbled upon another jumping puzzle in the sylvari area where you were jumping on holographic platforms. That one was a real bitch but pretty cool.
Have you checked out the giant bomb guild, Lincoln Force? It is full of friendly people that like to play together. We also have a mumble server for talking about random crap (and useful stuff) while playing (or while not playing). I think invites are kind of broken right now but hopefully it will be fixed soon.
