@mike: I don’t think quest Paladin will be viable anytime soon, but what I meant was more that if you’re casting the spells anyways Galvadon could be one more threat that demands an answer. If you’re stacking threats that have to be dealt with eventually you exhaust your opponent of resources, like old school Wallet Warrior. I doubt Galvadon will ever be played in a Tier 1 deck but with the rotation I think we could see some kind of control Paladin that utilizes it. Maybe I’m just a dreamer.

Seems like solid synergy with the Voraxx, Lynessa, and I guess the paladin quest? Definitely really strong for dude paladin as well, since sometimes you'll have a few Silver Hand Recruits in your hand.

This card is making me think that running the quest as just another threat isn't such a bad idea now. It seems like it'll be very easy to complete, so maybe not much downside?

It feels like the lower power of the cards is a tacit acknowledgement of how busted some of the cards they've been printing have been. Seems like they're trying to print some cards that aren't as obviously powerful in this expansion. Could lead to a TGT situation. Hopefully not. Only a few cards in the set look clearly strong.

I abandoned hearthstone after playing for a couple of years simply because the expansions are too frequent and too expensive. In order to stay ahead of the curve you need to drop literally hundreds of dollars a year. With this update I'm glad that I did; the emphasis on odd/even cards to me indicates that the designers are creatively bankrupt.

How so? Why does having a couple cards that rely on playing only even/odd number cards show they are creatively bankrupt?

Also emphasis on odd/even cards? 6 cards shown out of potentially 130+ cards.... how did you come to the conclusion that this is the backbone of this set and not the Rush/Echo keywords?

I mean I didn't analyse every card, that's just the impression I got from scanning through the ones that have been shared in this thread. By creative bankruptcy I mean they seem to be struggling to come up with new interesting dynamics to implement - creating cards which react to odd or even mana cards seems like a decision that hasn't been thought out particularly well and was thrown in arbitrarily without considering the long term impact it would have on the game. Because how can you predict what something like that will do when it's applicable to such a wide range of combinations?

Team 5 has said they've shown all the Odd/Even loving cards already, so it is just these 6 for the whole expansion. I'm not really sure how this deck building challenge is any worse than something like Highlander or No Minions. It's just another restriction on your deck that gives you a reward if you can find a way to build a strong deck around the restriction. Buffed hero power seems like a modest reward for not using half the cards in the game but I think creatively bankrupt is a bit much.

New Rogue spell. Seems like abysmal tempo. Goes to show how incredibly good Tomb Pillager was!

@mike: I would be pretty surprised to see this played in Standard Druid. We already have Nourish, Ultimate Infestation, Branching Paths, and even Wild Growth for draw. Maybe it would be used if it was a Hunter card, haha.

@acura_max: these handsize focused Druid cards are all even cost. So is the plan to include Genn and do some sort of even only token deck where you use hero power to try to contest the board? Seems like a tall order without Savage Roar or any 1 drops at all.

btw, if you have a Tundra Rhino out when you play the Mastiffs, so they have Rush and Charge, can they go face, or does Rush overrule Charge?

Currently people are thinking it will override the Charge, since Charge simply means the minion doesn't get summoning sickness but Rush is an active effect preventing the minion from attacking face. Pretty disappointing if this is how the card actually works, since it seems like an active nerf to Zombeasts.

Lord Godfrey and Rebuke make me really nervous for the future. Control/Cube Warlock isn't really losing much (N'Zoth, Mistress, and sometimes Barnes), and Silver Hand/Murloc paladin is doing well too (most notable losses being Rallying Blade, Steward of Darkshire, and Vilefin Inquisitor). Godfrey and Rebuke both fit extremely cleanly into their respective decks and are likely going to be making up for the things these decks are losing, and seeing that the two most clearly powerful cards revealed so far are going to two of the classes who need the least help going into this rotation is sort of deflating.

I'm a Druid/Warrior player for the most part and I'm not exactly enthused by the cards they've shown for these classes so far. It's tough because we can't get a picture of the full set and how the meta is likely to look until we've seen everything, but I sometimes wonder just how far in advance they're designing sets since Team 5 seems a bit sluggish to adapt to the meta. I'm not saying this is a Purify situation but it does sometimes feel that balance in this game is a revolving door of which class they decide to print broken cards for.

They said they’re having audio trouble with the switch so they can’t record until they fix that.
