For my two cents, I exclusively played Dead Cells with this controller, no fuss about it. Hitman was another notable game I used this controller on but I tended to avoid shootouts in that case. Civ is a fantastic use for the Steam controller as well! Not having to swap mouse and keyboard with my wife on a hotseat game is great! I couldn't wrap my head around 1st and 3rd person shooting with the Steam controller though; having only recently discovered Steam's controller support, I've been using my PS4 controller to play Control, for example.

Whenever I can get my buddy on, I'm loving Remnant! I get my Souls-esque drip-feed of world-building, while catching up with a buddy and getting slaughtered by tree people, good times!

River City Girls is a surprisingly fun beat-'em-up, a genre I usually avoid. Just enough moves to play around with and figure out, and simple enough for my wife to tag along! Always a fan of Wayforward's art direction, too.

A Plague Tale: Innocence has been very intriguing, depressing, and bleak with just enough rays of hope to keep me and my friends taking that next step forward. The pieces are slowly coming together, and I'm excited/worried to see where Amicia and Hugo end their journey.

Control is the Remedy game that finally clicked with me. The gameplay is usually a lot of fun, but the pickups (i.e., the optional world-building dumps) paint a picture of a world more out of control than we realize, just in our periphery to be out of mind, that it helps solidify the actuality of the main plot.

It doesn't happen so often anymore, but sometimes Taking Back Sunday or The Used or whatever else I was listening to in college would come on and I would instantly see my Tauren Shaman running across The Barrens. Far too much of my college time was WoW on mute with music blaring.

From the aforementioned, I would second (and third) Mob Psycho 100 II (drags a bit here and there but my shonen-adverse wife enjoyed it!) and Demon Slayer (some typical character archetypes but stunning animation and setting that evokes medieval Japan).

Fruits Basket had a reboot season this year! The first season finished airing this summer and is basically an update of the original airing, but what's exciting is next year's season 2, the second half of the manga that was never animated almost 20 years ago. If you've seen the original airing and don't need a refresher, you can skip most of the first season; if not, look forward to a sweet, innocent slice-of-life shoujo that'll leave you with warm, fuzzy feelings!

Boogiepop and Others is a really cool, offbeat anime that ramps up the philosophy and the action in equal parts. Having not seen Boogiepop Phantom (and now interested in tracking it down), the restraint shown in thickening the tension in the viewer to the breaking point before shit hits the fan - the alternative being violence for violence's sake - is very effective. The "urban legend" theme has been on my mind a good bit as I play through Control, and this Japanese take on it is very well done, typical of Bones.

I'm a huge wimp with horror games, but I'm hoping SOMA without the baddies is something I can get myself through this Halloween!

I gotta throw out Playdead's Inside for anyone looking for a spooky game. No game (that I was able to complete) has ever been able to get under my skin quite like that one, and I'm sure it'll be on sale this holiday!

I'm on that FE: Three Houses train, rollin' with Golden Deer for my first playthrough and planning on playing through the other two houses. So yeah, this'll be my main game for a while. Also throwing up Pyre whenever baby gives Mommy and Daddy a minute to ourselves, though for as fantastic as the game's world, characters, and atmosphere are, I kinda hate the actual gameplay itself. Doesn't feel good at all, and I don't anticipate anything new being introduced helping my case out.

My wife loves FMV games, so I'm super interested in both Telling Lies and Erica. I loved Her Story and have heard good things about both games in general, so I think it would be a fun surprise for the two of us to check out!

I'm also finally swirling ideas in my head for a Mario Maker level, so hopefully I can have something for Ben and Dan to check out (if I can tear myself away from FE, that is).

Switching to turn-based combat is intriguing, but I'll need to see it. My wife loves to watch the Yakuza series, but she hates menu-based games; the needless levels of minute nitpicking at every single number in Three Houses has her completely zone out. The trailer above gives me the same vibes the other Yakuza games gave me, but if the new combat system drags the action too much, I may have to play this one on my lonesome!

Anyone watching Fruits Basket? My wife and I were super excited when we saw it pop up, it was just criminal the OG run stopped halfway! After the initial wave of nostalgia though, we're seeing the budget cuts in direction and animation. It's making me wanna rewatch the OG run, 'cause there's some stretched that drag for no reason =/

Also, anyone know where to watch Boogiepop Phantom? The new release Boogiepop and Others has been really intriguing, so I wanna check out Phantom, but I can't seem to find it on any of my streams (VRV, Hulu, Netflix, Amazon Prime).

I picked up Path of Exile a few months back mid-season on a whim. I was enjoying myself, but then Rorie started showing it on stream. Probly that same day, I told my wife "I'm sorry, but I'm gonna go hard on this game. I might disappear." She's pregnant, so she wouldn't let me disappear, sadly. But! Not only am I still playing, but I sucked her in as well as a handful of my closest friends, whom could never agree on a multiplayer game to play!
